I followed this write-up DIY pressurized water tank update
I used 4" white pvc and painted it black (I can't get abs or black pvc in my area)

Maple Spring Trail, Silverado Canyon. Took the Mom and Doggo out for the day. Gate was closed at the rocky climb to the towers. 10/27.

Yup......I'm running a mud tire in this size and it's working great on my daily driver 3rd Gen.

When these wear out I'm going to replace them with the same.

All the tundras were able to handle the trails no problem. Switch backs on Black Bear were tight (and resulted in one flat) but they made it.

We hit Imogene, Ophir, Clear Lakes, and the rest of the group did Black Bear. The lady friend was feeling the effects from the elevation so we unfortunately had to sit that one out. Just another reason to go back!

Looking for a good place to do some camping/overlanding within ~2 hours drive south of Charlotte. Nothing too dangerous/technical. What trails or routes are good?

Nice! I love that area. A few years ago when I had my Jeep I camped at Molas Lake and did Ophir, and some other trails. Unbeatable scenery, and all around good time. I am already planning another trip for next July and can't wait.

Yesterday, but my first time ever going actual four wheelin' (at least more than access roads for photography gigs)! Felt like the truck was close enough to "ready" to go start learning how it works (articulation, line selection, clearance limitations, how not to fuck up (long way to go on that last one)) etc. since I had never done it before. Been on some ride-alongs through photography gigs at offroad events so I thought I had a reasonable starting point to take on some easy trails.

    Things I have identified:
I have A LOT to learn
I need some recovery gear (I own exactly one shackle (free gift from a vendor))
I need to "get a brain, morans" (puddles may be deeper than they appear)
I have approximately four places that need some major cutting/reshaping (rubbing EVERYWHERE (up front))
I forgot to take pictures of any of the actual cool shit we did
Lastly, this is fun as hell!

    Northwest OHV in Bridgeport, TX
Edit: This was my wife driving and learning with me while I learned to spot and direct. Blind leading the blind???
