So, I bought myself a lathe and have been teaching myself how to turn perfectly good bar stock into scrap. Anyone have any good Tacoma project ideas?

Thanks to @Canoehead for the help last wednesday night on the teardown of the MC for the bike, I was able to re-assemble the master cylinder and bleed the brakes on Friday. Still can't find the old piston that shot out!.

not truck related, but I like show'n tell ;)
Soaking the new parts in brake fluid as per the FSM.

I'm making hinge pins and bushings for my swing out tailgate. Rather that attach something to the bumper I want to make a new tailgate that will drop down or swing out like a ridgeline one, while also being able to have a spare tire mounted to it.

    Yes I did actually.

Over the first steep hill, it was nice to glance at and make sure no big rocks sneeked onto the trail ( you know, 1 min after you had just done it ) and really nice over the 2nd smaller one, that was right after the first. with the nose sky high,I could look across the top at one point and see where I was roughly in relation to the tracks.

no gonna lie, not necessary, but for $15 it was nice to have.

honestly if it weren't for my son watching DVD's while we wheeled, I would have had it on the entire trip. I'll take you out to the little hill beside the baker Drive Mazda dealership and let you have a gander for yourself.

    Looking good!

how do you find the 2.5" lift treating you? it looks like you'll be needing some sliders on that rig next .

I noticed you have the general grabber AT's how do you like them?

So I might have found my new frame hole. She's only a little hole near the drivers side engine mount, but I am going to call Toyota tomorrow and see if I am eligible. Otherwise time to cut and weld.

I have an appointment next Wednesday with Kentville Toyota to have an inspection done and get the word on whether or not they will replace the frame. It apparently had the corrosion prevention stuff applied to the frame in 2014, but that shouldn't affect me.
