    That's weird, my Akebonos came with shims already stuck on the pad. But then again I'm not running the 436 that's supposed to be for my truck. I'm running 799 that's listed for 95-97.

    Oh they have what appears to be a shim on there. Wasn't sure if I needed to reuse the old ones. Hopefully I can get to it in a hour..

    Yeah you don't need to run the ones on the OEM pads with the Akebonos.

    Ever have White Castle? Traditionally an East Coast chain, but there’s one in Vegas. I had it when I was in a New Jersey and I don’t see the big deal about it. Tastes like every other fast food burger to me, they’re just in slider form.

    I was under the impression most brake pads have integrated shims. The brake pads on my E320 and the brake pads on my Tacoma both had integrated shins.

    Actually yeah, funny you brought that up. I've eaten the frozen ones from the market. Went to Vegas last month and coworker told me I had to try WhiteCastle there. Said it's so much better than the frozen ones. My other friends told me the one is Vegas is still not the same as the real ones in the East Coast. Sure enough the WhiteCastle in Vegas is not much better than the frozen ones IMO.

    Now I want to go to a real WhiteCastle!

    I think only factory pads (but not all) use separate shims. But again I've never purchased OEM pads before so not sure. I think I remember my original pads did have separate shims. And aftermarket pads always come with shims but not always preattached to the pad.
