That would mean that he'd have to post in two different threads then: this one and the read-only. Because with your suggestion, the read-only would then only be for paying customers, which means people who are researching the benefits of the tune could not use it or see it, for whatever reason. This thread currently serves current and potential customers

 

Read only means everyone can read it. There's already a review thread. People can figure it out on their own.

 

You forgot about the A/T and M/T threads....

 

As for locking the thread, I don't think that's necessary. As much as we BS, I'm pretty sure that there's more good than bad that comes from our privilege of posting/commenting. No need to lock the thread, I vote against that. People who are salty and upset can either suck it up and live with the fact that they're on the internet and not everything on the web will be to their liking, ignore people who they don't want to see posts from, etc

 

What's your point? This alpha thread still gets more use for putting out info because it's more easily found following a quick Google search, and putting out info on this thread reaches everyone. It's got like 4x more pages than the other threads after all.

It's a pretty simple concept really. Mat takes the first post of this thread and creates a new read only thread and he posts any new developments and updates in there. We discuss it,the weather,exhaust and anything else but politics in here in and he replies in here as he feels necessary.

 

I think he meant anyone who paid for the tune but doesn't want to spend the time hanging out in this thread with the cool kids....

 

Simple, yes. But unnecessary. We have the tools available to see what we need to see. We can just search out only Mat's comments via filter, we can just choose to read and gloss over the BS...your solution is simple, but it's just another solution for what I see as a non-existent problem. It's just random people, and a small number of them at that, who are stirring up trouble because the internet and all of its users do not conform to their liking
