    Yup, for a little thing that it is, it does an amazing job! :cool:
    Chris saw this mount in my truck last weekend, so I figured I'd link it.
    Did you correct your CB antenna issue yet? Last weekend in AOAA I came across two other guys using accessory mounts like yours, both with swr/antenna issues (one was really bad).

    I didn't. I got the swr, tunned the antenna and the CB still didn't work. I ended up ripping the antenna setup off the truck. I bought a cheap antenna and it worked but I broke the CB. I think I burnt something in it. :anonymous:

    I haven't decided what to do next yet.

    Sucks... Wish we were closer to each other, I'd gladly help you out setting things up. Thank goodness basic CB radios aren't expensive, unless you opt for handheld ones, those run $80-100 and don't have much range with their rubber antennas (you could hook up external for extra range, but that defeats the purpose- ask me how I know... lol).

    Ha! That's the thing . I bought a cheap CB but an expensive antenna. I have a feeling the ciax cable was messed up.

    Yeah, if pinched or forcibly twisted, it surely could have been messed up. Did you re-drill the hole in the bracket? Is the bracket properly grounded? (When in doubt: sand/remove some paint, add grounding screw with grounding strap, and if possible ground it to the frame.... Sorry, if I didn't stress ground enough :devil::devil: ). Once your bracket and antenna ground is figured out, rest should be cake.
    For good measure there is a diagram of antenna to bracket connection/ assembly.

    I'm rocking something a bit different, due to a fact that 3rd gens have tighter space between tailgate and bedside. Some people experienced issues with chipping paint on their tailgates when using mounts like yours (and similar), so I've decided to go with trunk/hood lip NMO mount (and NMO antenna).

    I made the hole slightly larger, isanded, I cleaned, i spit on it and shined it :D...oh and I grounded the antenna to the frame. Nice and clean. Didn't work for shit.
