I got my winch from morris 4x4. The few times I have needed to use it have made it well worth the investment.

 

Which one do you have again?

I am also looking at a ProEagle jack as well now to have with me for all the times lately that having something besides a hi-lift would be safer and easier.

Yea, those ProEagles are so nice, but in the end, I think it would be a smart and well used purchase since at least one person in our group would have one then. No more using a hi-lift for a quick tire change or trail fix, plus a lot safer and quicker, and I can use it at the house as well.

 

If you have good access to the winch to run the controller the XRC is a good choice. I went with the x20 for the wireless controller since I dont have any cut outs giving me easy access to it. I didnt want to have to try and get the controller plugged in with having to stretch to reach and not be able to see the plug.

I agree about the pro eagle. I need a good one for the house after selling my last nice one a few years ago. Its something I've been looking at for over a year now but it hasnt moved up the list enough to spend the money.

 

Just remember to plug the controller in every once in a while to charge it (speaking of, i will be doing this before heading out on the next trip)

 

I should probably do that myself soon. I've never plugged mine in since the initial setup. I didnt know the battery was rechargeable. I do always have the cable with me incase I do need to plug it in.

 

Yea, I forgot you have a hidden winch style bumper. I have plenty of cutouts on the Pelfrey that I should be good to go I think if I did the XRC.

 

The harbor frieght jack is good enough for what we are up to

 

Yea, I have a harbor freight jack already, just don't really have a way to mount it in the truck if I wanted to have it on the trails.

 

Can relocate the solenoid on the x20 amirite?

 

You should be able to the wiring is fairly long. just need to find a place/way to mount it.

 

I want to do this that @greeneggsnspam did for the remote connection. Instead of having to get into the bumper all the time.

Just like I would also like to have a remote airchuck connection instead of having to have the hood open all the time.

That is clean. I would like to move it so I dont ever have to open the hood but I have limited space with the slimline. I would also like front and rear air chucks. I'll decide what I want to do when I have money again and get a full front bumper. I'll just be happy with the fact that everything works for now.

I tried to find something similar for Smittybilt, but did not, but pretty sure that is what you would need to do a relocate and have easier access to plug in the controller.

 

Something like that would be nice for a wired controller. I want to move the entire control box so its easy access to the power switch and remote plugin. Having utouts would be really nice for accessing the clutch lever. Right now I have to open the hood to power the winch on/off and engage/disengage the clutch, its kinda annoying every time I need to use it. I've thought about cutting a few spots out of a few discrete spots on my bumper to give me access.

 

Ah, yea, I bet we can move that control box and make it easier to get to somehow. Should not be too hard to do honestly.
