Whats up tacomaworld? Here is my icebreaker post. Got my 2009 pyrite mica regular cab 2wd in October of 2008 and I started looking into what kind of wheels would fit on my truck and I stumbled onto this site. Here is one of the few pictures of my truck I can find since I got some new tires and wheels...

That's my dad's truck in the back, a 96 Prerunner with just over 240k on it and it still runs like a clock. The wheels are 15x6.5" steelies off a 07 camry. I got them on craigslist from some guy who had the dealer put alloys on the camry he bought of the lot. I was going to get some procomps or cragars but the camry guy only wanted $20 a wheel and they were never used... Plus I like that the offset is the same as the stock wheels and keeps the wheels from jutting out the sides of the truck. The tires are cheap 235/75r15 wranglers and despite a noticeable power loss and -1~2 mpg they are working out OK. Since I took that pic I painted the hubs with rustoleum which matches the wheel perfectly.

And to ask a question right off the bat.... Does anyone know a shop near Asheville, NC that is willing to put some 3.73 gears/carrier into a tacoma? I've called every shop I could find and none of them will work on rear-ends. What-the-hell.

No worries man. I really have called about 10 shops that refer me to other shops because they "don't work on rear-ends".... One guy at a place called "mostly toyota" said that he had been a toyota tech for 25 years and that "no one" would be willing to work on re-gearing because i would "regret it 10,000 miles later". wtf. I was under the impression that hundreds if not thousands of tacoma owners had swapped gears.
