I believe the actual shape of the airbag pad is different too. A Sequoia airbag in a SC400, for example, would be bigger than it should be when deployed. It may even cause injury due to the radically different driving positions that it was originally intended for.

 

im probably doing the sequoia wheel swap with the radio controls. i just dont care for how the car wheels fit in the tacoma. I'd love to have the wheel from my avalon in the tacoma. but i dont know how id get the A/C controls to work (yes my avalons steering wheel has controls for the AC on it

 

possible. but chances are it wouldnt be a huge deal. ideally id like to never use my airbag...

I'm already taking the risk swapping to the IS300 wheel, I don't know if I want to go as far as doing airbag charge swaps.

What steering wheel were you thinking of using?

Really the only reason I'm swapping is because I want audio controls. The IS300 doesn't have them, but it's just such a nice looking and comfortable wheel. I'm remapping the shifters to control it.

 

Oh your talking new. I picked up a used 4runner hood w/scoop for $80.

My dad actually Chrome plates the molds/dies that make the Tacoma body panels. I've seen the actual die for the 3rd Gen tailgate in person, really quite amazing looking at the piece that's made the tailgate for every 3rd Gen Tacoma in existence.

 

my dad worked at general mills. Where they made bugels. Ive seen the machines that made bugels! (before the clsoed the plant and scrapped said machines)

I got my clausing drill press, 2 stanley vidmar cabinets. a 10ft workbench my Dake 6ton compound arbor press. my plasma cutter, and a bunch of other shit from there (dirt cheap too.. thanks auctions!)

Oh and my badass custom built bandsaw... it uses a portaband
