They make decent stuff, but all these types of companies are stretched too thin to cover everything well. At least it's not Davez off road. He is the WORST

For sure. Marlin sucks at little shit for me, then makes up for it when they shipped me a trans in a week when mine blew up. Next trucks getting a 4spd atlas for sure. I can save up my pennies giving handjobs on the street corner to buy one faster than I can waiting for all their backordered shit to get in stock.

    And no IG as I'm not a 14yrold chick:luvya:

Did some wheeling in Harlan KY this weekend. It light rained every 20mins, so the trails we're super slick. I was there with some mildly built tacomas so it was mostly trail riding, which is fine by me. Videos courtesy of @mosquitoTaco

The toyos continue to amaze me in the wet, and let me down in the dry lol! They stick like glue to wet rocks!
Never realized how loud my truck is, the sound of gear reduction is a great one!

Nothing broke that I know of, made a list of everything I want to do over the winter, which really means 3days before the 1st spring trip.

Finally unpacked the truck from the last wheeling trip and drove it work one day last week. Also today I found out PSC makes a shorty steering ram, 2" physcally shorter so ordered one up for my hydro assist project. Have the next 2.5wks off work so I may be back wrenching on this thing, swapping out the steering box and motor mounts.

New steering ram day. I saw that PSC had a "shorty" ram on their site that was 2" shorter than their regular ram fro the same stroke, it's made up by the heims I guess. So I picked one up and it showed up yesterday. Here it is next to my surplus center ram I was going to run, this PSC ram is still longer, damnit! The issue I have is I have zero room under the truck to mount a ram due to the narrow springs and 1" of up travel. I do like the fact the heims on the PSC ram can swivel and I can run a really narrow tab. I think that's where the advantage of using this ram will be, it's a game of MM under there. Plus I'll have the bling style points of having PSC at TW meets:
Member: those PSC steering stabilizers are the best I see them on all the ultra 4 cars.
Me: it's actually a hydro ram for the steering
Member: *blank stare* .............. I have 3 new light bars and a RTT, come look at my stt Maxx tires.;)
    IMG_20181223_091047996.jpg

It's supposed to be in the middle 40s this week so I'll probibly do some wrenching on this thing and see how this fits in there.

Did some wrenching today since it's December and 50 and raining..
Finally got the cursed steering box drilled tapped and put back together. This is the same box that blew out the input shaft seal and sent me to the hospital after a drill bit broke fixing the seal.

Kind of reverse order, box assembled and tapped.
    IMG_20181227_144523503.jpg
Putting the ball bearings back into the plunger thing in the steering box. It's a ball screw in there and if you unscrew it instead of pulling that assembly out all the ball bearings fall out and you have to put them back in. Here is how you do it:

    IMG_20181227_140424609.jpg
Take off that plate with the two bolts and there is a u shaped channel with a hole in it.
    IMG_20181227_140500461.jpg
Drop the balls back in there and put the cap back on, book fixed. Most people say fuck it and scrap the box if this happens, no need to if you have the bearings.

Where I tapped the end of the box.

I also did some measuring to see how that ram fits, not bad!
    IMG_20181227_161207392.jpg

I tacked the tabs to the shaft collar. I have to sleeve my tie rod as it's too small of a diameter for that collar.
    IMG_20181227_154844009.jpg

Working through some length issues on the ram, for some reason it's throw is 1.5" too long and I don't want to limit the throw if I don't have to.

Winters wrapping up so it's time to start working on this again. I have been wanting a coward facing camera for a while since wheeling with someone who had one. I can see shit over the hood of this truck when cresting hills, and it will help with self spotting through rock gardens. Anyone have any experience with the below system from surplus center? Price looks good to me, and I don't need anything integrated into a head unit, would probably put the display right on the dash along the A pillar on the drivers side.

I think you should just get some drunken asshole like @beertimecontinuum to ride belly down on your hood with his head hanging out over your grill. He can yell out spotting directions as you go.
