    Mornin folks,

I'm looking to install an offroad front bumper on my Gen 2 that is winch mount capable. There are a ton of aftermarket bumpers at various prices so I'm trying to decide what would be best for the price.

What have you folks put on your Tacos and what do you think after you installed them?

    Thanks!

Reference the DV8 bumper save a couple hundred an get it on eBay.. I have this bumper very pleased for the price I've winched a few times no issues. It gets a bad rep cause its a former vendors knock off but it's stout. wait till eBay has a sale you can get it shipped for 500 like I did.

Went with ARB because it's the only aftermarket bumper that retains functionality of airbags. Also, didn't require any cutting or trimming of the stock bumper and looks great on 05-11 Tacomas:

So it's a minor quibble, but the 2nd gen bumper doesn't have any airbag stuff in it that an aftermarket bumper would replace. The ARB's upside, as I discovered while looking for new bumpers, is really they are the only one tested and certified that the airbags will work correctly with it. I'm sure other companies' offerings would very likely pass if they were willing to shell out the capital to have a crash safety board do all the testing protocols. ARB has the cert because Australia requires major vehicle mods to be signed off by an licensed engineer, so they pretty much had to do the testing just to sell it.

That said, that certification might come in handy if you ever got hurt in an accident and the other guy lawyered up and decided to pick on your big hunk of steel you bolted to the front.

I realized that when I installed it and noticed nothing specific to the factory airbags. The certification gives me good piece of mind all around

One downside to the ARB bumper is there are no front recovery points since they're prohibited on bumpers in australia. So you'll have to come up with something else, be it the TRD OR Recovery hook, BPF bolt on shackle thing, or ARBs recovery point ($$$$$$$$)
