    You as well...

Yeah there are some good ones. But the thing I have learned (I am new to the area) is there is a lot of land and deer and not that many hunters. Which is a good thing for those of us that do hunt, but it's almost too easy. I have deer in my yard/land every day. However, I am oversess for work right now and missing the season  and am living vicariously through this thread

I have that call for elk, but try as they might its just not the same. I have used that call and called a bull in and it seems to work quite well. Its hard to describe the sound they make.

    Nice buck!

that's the ammo I use in my 308. And yes I have the same sentiments as you, it performs quite well :bananadead:

Thanks! Yeah I saw what that ammo did last year in a 30-06, figured it would work fine with the 6.5 creedmoor. The 30-06 looked like your entrance hole. With the 6.5 I hit a rib and the entrance was maybe 1/2 inch or so wide but his organs were all jacked up. Not surprisingly there was no exit hole but plenty of blood if I did need to track him.

It was as close to salt cured ham as you can get with out having salt cured ham haha... Gotta trim the out side though cuz it was super salty before I did

could you rinse it off or would that mess it up? Also Ive passed on your loin cutting technique...whether they use it or not is a different story. I also had a neighbor bring me a doe to process and I used your method for the loins. I absolutely will not do another animal any other way. Thanks!

You probably could rinse it or even soak it for a while But you would probably need to dry it really well if you wanted it to crisp back up while it cooked. Im also not sure how good the out side would be if you let it cure long enough to do a large muscle or whole ham... But I hope to find out soon haha

Still going after the ones I’ve had on camera. My dad sat in my tree a week or so ago and saw them, but didn’t have a shot. The rut is going to be late this year. Barely any sign being laid yet and the bucks are still grouped up. I have the whole week before thanksgiving off, which is usually close to prime time, but it’s gonna be way later than that this year.

On another note, a guy I know killed a 184” buck on a WMA. Freakin swamp donkey.

The screw in steps is all I used to use,but not anymore. All we use now is climbing sticks, easy to put up,easy to take down and very safe also very affordable through Sportsman Guide.

I used 2 at the bottom then the LW sticks . I think next year it’s going to be more ladder stands and less lock ons.
Possibly a ground blind . I’m 56 and in good shape and hanging these stands is a chore .
