Been doing my research on overlays and Plasti Dip for my badging...decided to go with Plasti Dip. Purchased today but I just have to have time to get it done now lol. I plan on Plasti Dip'ing rear bumper chrome and TACOMA badging. Saw some stuff on removing the V6 badge....still not sure if I wanna remove or just black it out. Thoughts?

What I did today? Finally caught up to this forum thread so that I can post. I was behind some 50-60 pages as I had a 2 week vacation and have been trying to build a shed. Of course the Tacoma is helping me build said shed by hauling a bunch of lumber.

As for Tacoma updates, I recently had a little bumper crunch with a tow hitch. Basically didn't listen to my parking assist and though I cleared it while backing out of a tight parking space. Thought I had another 6 inches. Beast of a tow hitch (x3).

This is a $300 fix since I needed both covers and the assembly that's just underneath the passenger side. That thing shatters easy.

It ended up damaging 3 parts mainly, but only 2 needed to be replaced. That said, I ended up switching to black since I couldn't easily find Inferno, was unsure if I'd have to get painted or would come painted, and I needed this done sooner than later. So, I also got the left rear bumper cover as well.

Here's the blind spot monitor. The case was cracked, so I opened, snapped it back into place, and used a black silicone. It hides behind the bumper so it's function over fashion here. Turned out perfect and still works well.

Here's the finished product. In real life, it's not as shiny and blends a bit more with the step on the bumper. Now I am just waiting on a parking sensor retention clip since I didn't realize it snapped that also.

Well on or off is really up to you but I put mine back on after removing and blacking out all my badges with Rustolium spray-on bed liner. The light texture of the Rustolium gives the badges some visual depth and isn't the same ol smooth gloss or matte finish. Whatever you do be sure to get some 220 or finer sand paper and thoroughly scuff all cracks and crevasses or eventually you will over time have crome showing through as paint does not like to stick to the crome coating very well.:)

Thanks, the cement was the only color I would get. Got lucky with this one. The dealer only had one and they didn't mark it up.

Was not welcoming him as you can see I was quoted another persons post. I'll delete it though I forgot that some people are sensitive to things they read on the web. :anonymous:

Check out Rock Auto for the bumper end caps. Much cheaper and just as nice as OEM. You won't know the difference in looks and you'll have some money to put towards another mod.

You’ll crush it again, consider an aftermarket steel plate bumper. It was the first thing I did after I tore up my plastic bumper backing into some bushes (yes shrubs) next to the driveway.

Day late Slow weekend, but it finally warmed up enough here in the Midwest tackle a few things on the Taco.

First up was quick interior lighting upgrade. Some "Meso Customs” super cool map lights.

Last thing before the sun went down was the bed rack. I got rid of the KB Voodoo modular rack because "I like this one better". Seriously though, I dig the way this one mounts via the bed bolts. It was a custom job, welds are so-so, but fully powder coated.

Derp it first. If you don’t like it remove it. If you do like it you’re done (for a while at least). Mine have been through the car wash over 20 times and still look like the day I first derped them.
