So I was actually talking about the amount of sh*t on it, metal particulate and whatnot. But now that you mention it, yeah, I totally thought I broke the bolt head off when it finally gave. Was a serious 'oh please no' moment. I did loosen the fill plug first too, to alleviate the vacuum pressure, still was a mother.

Ah, that makes sense! Yeah I had crud on mine again as well. This is 20k miles on Amsoil Severe Gear. I did my first change at 10k.

It was way worse on the 10k change with the stock fluid.

Nope. The 6MT needs 75w90 GL-4. You can use Resline MT90 which is a good oil with an excellent reputation.

Have you gotten the results of your 2nd UOA back yet?

That Tekton is a good wrench. 1/2" drive sockets can usually be found from 10-32mm in chrome hand drive. Tekton makes a smaller kit that goes to 24mm. That covers most everything on the truck but the axle nut. For $50 more you can get up to 32mm. Choose based on your budget.

One liter was exactly enough for me. I used the Ravenol, but I think the Toyota cans are also 1 liter per.

    Thanks! $60 isn't bad, $120 sucks.

I wouldn’t. The proper fluid is 75w LF. Ravenol or Toyota are your only options.

@Jh8473 I believe redline claims that this oil and/or their MT85 substitutes for 75w. I would stick with a GL-4.

Should I be worried about torquing the the oil filter cap to 30lbft. Was going to do an oil change but had to do something urgently and I re-torqued the oil filter to the wrong spec. (Spec is 18lbft)

It's plastic, if it didn't break you dodged a bullet. If it cracked it will leak and costs more than it should to replace but shouldn't bankrupt you.

Excellent. I was in a rush and looked at the first torque spec listed on the DIY for the Oil Filter and assumed that was spec for the Filter cap. No Leaks detected. Thanks for your help. God bless.
