Forgive me if this is not the place to ask, but I'm looking for a new post workout protein powder. Have used the following in the past and looking to stay clear of these:

    - ON gold standard whey protein
    - bodybuilding.com signature series

Looking at nitro tech ripped or ISO100. Just looking for something to cut the extra weight and get some quality definition. Diet is decent and I work out 6 days a week consistently.

Reviews of the nitro tech ripped seem good and people seem to get good results with what they advertise. Anyone use this before? Other recommendations?

    TIA!

Any reason for wanting avoid those two? They are quality brands and in terms of protein quality, hard to beat.

Myprotein has great protein as well and really competitive prices.

My coach pulls sumo and a lot of the guys I compete with do too and most of them can pull a lot more than me despite benching and squatting less so I have tried to convert but just can’t fully commit. It bothers my hip too much. I can still pull more conventional but I’m not completely giving up on it yet.

I put my hands like half on the knurling/half off

Sorry, probably should have gone into a bit more detail. I am just looking for something more. Better bang for the buck so to speak. Gold standard seems like the basic starting point for someone who just started working out. Results have been alright and steady. BB.com signature series clumps really bad. Taste is fine and results seem to that of ON.

    Current stack:

    EVL Pre-workout
    EVL Pump mode

Both mixed together and sipped 15-20 minutes prior to and throughout workout.

    Protein shake immediately post workout.

I like to grip the bar right where the knurl starts coming out from the middle of the bar. Are you using a mix grip or hook? I have trouble using a mix grip with anything above 405. Using a hook grip my hands haven't gotten in the way.

I’ll try to scoot my hands out just a tad to get a little of the knurl like y’all are saying.

I’m a hook gripper from way back because oly. I mix grip my conventional pulls, but hook sumo because my thigh peels my fingers off the bar if I don’t.

It’s not bad. I haven’t been 100% strict so no real changes. I’m going to try sticking to it strict for the next 30 days since it’s so expensive I might as get my moneys worth.

Not sure I’d do it again though. Maybe if it was 30-40 bucks a month. The coach is great and very helpful, but it’s mega expensive. And their website interface sucks big time. For both nutrition and workouts.

I pull double overhand as heavy as I can then switch to switch grip. My hands are too small for hook .-.

I've tried but I am terrible. My glutes are my weak point so I think that is why. Something I need to start working on I suppose.

I don't know if your question was geared specifically towards this, but there isn't a specific protein powder that is going to help with those goals. It would be all about caloric deficit at that point. As long as your protein powder doesn't put you over TDEE, you're good to go. But, then again, this is the internet where everyone knows everything and is smarter than everyone else, so if I am off base with my answer as it relates to your goals, I'll just fuck off.

Same except my hands aren't too small, I just have a stronger grip switch. I do like to get the extra grip work pulling double overhand for as long as I can though.

I hear people say that, but I have small hands too. :notsure: I guess it’s just hand proportions. I do have kinda long fingers for my piano hands. Haha

I’ve got fat chubby thumbs. It’s weird, my family used to joke and say they were smashed with a hammer when I was a kid...I think they were joking...

I haven’t really tried hook that much though so maybe I can do it. I don’t pull heavy enough for it to be an issue:rofl:...yet

Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels like a fat fuck after having a cheat meal. I feel like I've gained 40 pounds.

Nah. You’re not alone. My problem is I won’t just have a cheat meal. I’ll have a cheat day and eat everything in the house.
