only way I found to figure it out is to use an OBII reader ..the ecu id will read 04A60 for AT ...if has not been done ...The ecu will read 04A61 once completed...I picked up my 2018 TRD OR in September & it had not been done....

 

Would this be covered under warranty?

 

The tsb is covered for 96 months or 80,000 miles.

 

So I called my dealership today and spoke to the service department, I asked if I was able to provide him with my VIN if he could tell me if all the TSB's are done, the following is our conversation...

Me : Hello, I'd like to know if I provide you with my VIN if you could tell me if all required TSB's have been completed?
Service : What are TSB's....
Me : Seriously? Uhh... Technical Service Bulletins....
Service : Oh yeah, I know that but what TSB's are you talking about? The new Tacoma's don't have any...they were all fixed from the factory back in 2018.
Me : Oh, perfect so no more gear hunting issues or anything like that or even the delay of acceleration?
Service : Haha that has never been an issue...commonly TSB's aren't performed unless there is an issue that the customer notes. Have you noted these issues on your Tacoma?
Me : Well since it's hard to compare a 2018 v6 Toyota to a 2006 v8 Chevy...no. I just would've assumed the TSB's would've been checked prior to me taking delivery... Good to know where y'all stand though...

That's where I got hung up on...

 

The service department is correct. Don't confuse a tsb with a recall.

 

Ujoint failure. Just grease them.

 

Thanks for sharing this. I’m a rookie Taco owner and in the same boat. I just picked up a 19 and unsure if there are any TSBs which I should be putting on my radar.

 

From what I've gathered, if you have an issue that you believe can be rectified via a TSB. Bring your truck in, explain the issue and provide them with the TSB information. If it fits the bill, they'll apply the TSB.

 

Copy thanks sir. Being a rookie to Tacoma’s I have zero idea what is normal and customary. I was thinking in a perfect world they would address any issues with a 2019 before a customer can even drive away. Appreciate the info.

 

Depending on what you had before, you'll notice some minor differences like the transmission can be...we'll use the word "different" until you get used to it. Also some creature comfort differences which you've probably already figured out. Any questions, no matter how dumb you may think it is - just ask here, someone has probably already asked the same question or has that question.

I did a search but couldn’t find info, but does anyone use a “Super Bumper” or any other tow hitch based bumper protector? I used one for my 4Runner and it basicallly absorbs a rear hit so your sled is okay when you get rear ended. I like the device and haven’t had to use it, but it doesn’t look the greatest. Wasn’t sure if you guys had any experience or thoughts on it. Thanks very much.

Anyone know the trick to disable the crash alert alarm? I've had a couple false positives already, and I do not trust it.

I did that, but it doesn't stay off. I want the shit GONE.

 

Trade it in for a 16 or 17.
Pull the fuse. I dont know. That was what came up in my Google search.....
