Agreed...although I'd want one for the fact that the trails here in socal are dusty as hell most of the year. Only thing really preventing me from going with the cheaper eBay one now is doing some research on how it works with the supercharger, I've heard some are better than others.

But does the snorkel actually help. It sounds like it would, but has anyone ever actually studied it, and proven that they help? Or is it just a theory that someone had and everyone repeats it? Not criticizing, just want to know.

Im not sure I see the point, I mean i get the idea to get it higher out of the dust.

However, every time I'm following someone in the dust...the dust cloud is a hell of a lot higher than any snorkel could get. So not sure I see it working out well. Be cool if it did but I still think if you're in the dirt..your still gonna suck in all the dust.

What filter you running? I've just been using old fashioned paper filters and they clean out decently a few times before you need to change them

I'm guessing here but ... Higher but less thick than two feet off the ground at the normal intake. Also cooler air than what's radiating off the desert floor

I mean the stock intake is tucked under the wheel well outside the bay. May be a few degrees different but not huge.

Certainly gets it away from the wheel kicking up dust though.

I don't trust those reusable washable units that claim to flow more, that just means they let more trash through. I'd just run the paper and not worry so much about the couple bucks it takes to change it every few trips (cause you can blow them out a time or two safely)

I got rid of my washable aFe filter awhile ago, one too many sketchy reports on TW about how much dirt was getting through them and it seemed like it was happening with mine, too (fine layer behind the filter in the air intake). Went back to paper filters and I just knock the dirt out of them once or twice and then buy another, usually once every couple months or so. Pretty cheap way to ensure a healthier motor.

Like others have mentioned check that the seal is mating up to the ring. If you have abs you can look through the hole and see things aren't right. I had a dealer rebuild my axles and push that ring on too far. It took me a year to figure out why I kept blowing seals...

It surprisingly takes a few days to show itself again..

As for all this snorkel talk, mine has saved my motor twice. The most recent time I had no clue the puddle I was going into was going to be 4ft deep. Glad I had it and needed it. I'm not sure I believe the cleaner air part when you're following another rig. Mine gets pretty dusty following people through the desert. Rain has never been a problem Recently drove to 10 hours to Arkansas and it rained steadily for about half of that. I did want to check my air box but I forgot. I bet you could fill your air box with a qt of water, maybe more before it hydrolocks an engine.

Has anyone had green brake fluid after doing a brake job? I flushed the original fluid out about two years ago and it was like olive oil colored. I bled it yesterday and it came out green.

Apparently, this is from the brake line components degrading? Something about the brazed Brake Line runs (in which the solder would have Copper) mixing with the fluid.

    No clue. Any ideas?
