    I don't get this part. Surviving abuse is potentially a hook they can grab onto. And it continues to support a cycle of abuse and violence as some of them get out eventually.

    I'd want them put in a small room, barely large enough to lay down in. Nothing on the walls. I would want them to stay in that room for 24 hours a day, every day. Food sent in through a slot. Light from entirely artificial sources. Controlled entirely externally. Sound of a human voice would be carefully managed. Sight of a human being as well.

    I would want them to go mad. Then kill themselves. Alone.

    There is a wide range of criminals to whom I would apply this penalty.

    Cops was the best show ever, it was the only good reality show ever made. I liked Real Stories of the Highway Patrol, because it was so cheesy but good for a laugh. The FOX series Worlds Wildest Police chases/videos was pretty good too.

    This actually happened to me when I was about 19. I was working seven days a week and at least 14 hours a day doing concrete work. My girlfriend lived an hour away and the only way to see her at that time was to drive to her. i was driving home at around 4am and I just passed out at the red light!!! Car got towed and had to call family to come pick me up and wait a year for a court date! It was all dismissed but what a terrible experience!
