How tall is your wife? When you say that I think shes like the same height as my 5 yr old daughter

If she has trouble stepping up the fill plates makes them much more like steps and getting them at a lower angle can help as well the std angle is 15*

She's 5' 3" or so. On the passenger side there's not much to grab but the A pillar handle. She gets halfway in and I tug the rest of the way. She gets in ok but it's funny and it's more of a joke between us for me to help. She's used to her little Forester and before that her 4runner with steps.

Any little bit that gets me closer to some sliders. :D

    Nice!

Try working the “safety” angle too- may help!

Oh yeah they make it easier that's for sure! Just keep nudging away. Also skids are relatively cheap and you can do them one at a time. Protecting the vital organs to me is more important than the rocker or body.

And door ding protection. I watched someone smash their door against mine. It was rather entertaining to see them at first think they dinged my truck then realize they hurt their door more. My daughter was ready to give them what for I just laughed. Freakin Wal-Mart what do you expect.

Sliders with fill plates are a must then. My wife is 4’11” and gets in without any help by using the slider and grab handle. It is a process for her but once she figured it out, it’s no problem in or out.

Mine doesn't have to, but she'll climb up on the sliders, plant both feet, then look around like, this is my truck bitches.

Oh yeah there is a guy that makes paracord grab handles that replace the stock ones. I have them and had him make them 3" longer. They are nice and the longer length makes it easier to reach up and grab (or jump) when parked and the sliders are like at my chest level off the ground. You can also position them so they are more facing the door opening.

I need that for my side too.

There are plenty of times off road I need to back up and hop my ass up on the seat and pivot in.

should have just bought a nice Tacoma with a long bed and you wouldn't have needed that hitch mount carrier.
