Husky is shit IMO. Go pull a drawer out and look how they don't bother coating the inside or on some of them just leave manufacturing trash inside them. Cheap ass casters. Thinner sheet metal. Just not worth the money.

This is a good example of what I mean (just first video I found)

To be fair though I do rock a cheapass Waterloo 26" box too which is about as cheap and shitty as can be :)

My coworkers husky box is a higher end model and the drawers are comparable to my $8000 Mac box in terms of the smoothness, not weight though. I probably have 400lbs of steel in my top drawer alone

Smoothness wise they are nice (the ones Ive used/seen at least). I do like how they are incorporating the soft close drawers too. Just for the money they are overpriced IMO. Do they function and work fine? Sure do though! just feature wise and quality wise they aren't my favorite

The soft close is cool i dont know how they work if you put some serious weight in them. If i didn't do it for a living I’d probably spring for a US. General.

I’ve had Craftsman(junk sliders), Cornwell, Snap-on(stupid grip latch system) boxes.I’m currently using a Mac tool box which i like more than of them. Hopefully it’ll be the last tool box I’ll ever have to buy, it’s big enough that i shouldn’t run out of room.

Supposedly it still works. But I guess its also part of why the drawers have a lower weight limit than other brands.

Mac has been the nicest we've had at work in my experience. Snap-on was meh nice but nothing special. Vidmar cabinets also work decently well for mechanics at work here but they don't need full sets of tools either.

I just cant justify a Mac box for my home use lol. Hence looking at the other brands

I'm by no means a mechanic by trade lol. I stare at computer screens all day. However I do like to do my own installs and want my tools organized instead of all over the garage like it is now. Anything that I don't have to replace every 5 years or so is good for me.

Totally understand the last part, i wouldn’t spend over $800 on a home box.

Might be worth waiting till black Friday to see what sort of deals pop up. Sometimes there are decent ones. Wont be for the harbor freight stuff but Home Depot usually does something with Husky boxes.

When we move Ill probably end up going to a setup like the Newage Cabinets. Most of the sockets and wrenches actually stay in my service cart. All the overflow, hex, torx, ect type stuff is in the toolbox. Then Ive been picking up the Dewalt Tough system storage containers for some stuff. I'm liking those to make more "kit" type setups. Have all my electrical tools in one of them so its nice just grabbing it and having everything I need.
