Knowing what I know now, I would have bought the automatic instead. At least they fixed the automatic (software).

Edit: To answer your question a little better, everything I have read makes it sound like the 2010s are put together the same way, so most likely will have the same problems.

It's $234 to my door. And yes I'm going to do it myself. I should be able to get it done in a few hours. I'm not going to do an upgraded clutch since I just don't have the money right now. And if I were to do it again I would have bought an auto.

Stories like this are why I am going to get that extended warranty when I start to get close to the end of mine.

Double check the fine print. The Toyota extended warranty I have (Canadian) doesn't cover the bearing OR the clutch outside of the original 3yrs or 60,000KM warranty - it is considered a wearable item...

I had mine replaced about 3300KM ago - at my cost and it is chirping again...let's see what the stealership says about it now.

I feel so much better about opting for the automatic, having read this.

Just dropped off my 08 under factory warranty for chirping from the TOB, and a creaking clutch pedal, I just couldn't take the noises anymore. So we shall see.

Ok almost done here with the replacement bearing and sleave. It seems to me this done before since the shaft wasn't too bad and the bearing looked fairly new. I hope this fixes it.
Everything is in but now a check engine light? I will figure it out later. No squeaking, yea:burnrubber:

I'm going to stop by a parts store tomorrow and get the CEL looked up. I hope I didn't ruin a cat by beating a that stud out of the flange. Some half wit cross threaded one stud on there and it was a pita to get out after I stabed the trans.

2007 32,000 miles, chirp-chirp-chirp. Going to the dealer Monday. Does the PDM kit have a special bearing? Would it be available down the line if a replacement was needed. After a lot of research, it seems like getting the PDM kit installed with a new bell housing is the best fix I can think of, anything else looks like they are just throwing parts at it. How receptive do you think a dealer would be if I asked for the bell housing under warranty, plus the labor, and I pick up the tab for the kit. I plan on being well armed with info from these threads showing new release bearings are not the answer( there doesn't appear to be an answer).

Went to the dealer( BEaman Toyota in Nashville) this morning. They said no warranty if it has anything to do with clutch. I immediately called Toyota customer service( they are off today) to start complaining. Any info that I could reference to customer service would be GREATLY appreciated. My 3 year is November and I'm at 32000 miles.

Update #2- Beaman called, turns out they will warranty the Release bearing. Intially, I was told no waranty for clutch, Seems that they called head quarters with the problem and were told to do it under warranty( this tells me corporate has heard of this enough to say do it). I tried to express my concern that this was not the fix, but they still insisted that it was the only thing they found. I asked them kindly to inspect the shaft carefully for damage. Looks like my saga is just begining, I have to give it up to Beaman for a virtually hassle free experience;which is good since I'll probably be back soon with the same chirp. Again, any and all advise, documentation, help ect. Would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck. Mine looks like someone has already been there once, when I bought the truck there was just a little faint chirp and I talk to the dealer about it they said the all do that it should be fine so I got a little more out of them with my concern about it. But when It got worse I called and ask if there was anything they could do about it they were onl concerned about the mileage and I was out of any warrenty they had. So I just fixed it myself, but after finding two minor bolts crossthreaded and one looked like a repair from being snaped off. Im glad I worked on it myself knowing my Bro inlaw use to work for a Toyota dealer, seeing the kinda people that work on your stuff there. Good luck at the dealer.

I have 3 year/ 36k mile. 3 years is gone in November, I'm at 32,600. I've seen a sticky on one of the forums for the 100k mile waranty for a good deal. prob going to that if it covers this. I'm also thinking about buying the bearing kit and going that direction.

I know you haven't had it on long, but how does the sleeve kit seem to work?

Just took in the truck yesterday and told them when i went in the first time he told me the noise was from the belts being dirty!!! So me not knowing left and it came back worse and worse so i looked up on this thread and found my problem.
when i brought it back yesterday i told the guy they messed up leading me to belive something else while the prob gets worse,i tell him i reserched and found out these is a big prob. He looks on his computer and says no TSB or other reported cases. Left the truck for the head mech to look at and call me back, iused some quotes from the site to get my point across but well see later how this works out. 2007 AC 6 speed with 59,378 miles so just about done with warrenty. I'll keep posted!!!!!
