TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I've heard that before.

 

I've been watching and waiting for the self tune version. Seems like there's a lot of potential there, but I'm treating it as vaporware until OVtune proves it to be otherwise.

 

Stock clutch started slipping on my way home today. Only took 8200 miles of spirited driving. Time for a stage 3 urd and lightweight flywheel.

Was hoping the stock one would hold on a little longer so i could do more troubleshooting. Guess thats not in the cards

 

That's very fitting. Self tuning is beyond my ability, but I would if I knew how. I'm still trying to download V2. It's just not working.

 

All I need is a TRD-like base tune that is adjusted to run 61lb injectors. With no catalyst monitoring and no secondary air injection.

Self tuning is beyond my ability as well, but I can find someone to fine tune it the rest of the way on a dyno.

 

Dyno work gets pricey I hear. That is what I could use.

 

And then we’ll all flood his shop.

 

Crazy! I have a stage 3 urd and aluminum flywheels all ready to go. And bought all the parts for the tsb on the throw out bearing squeak. Just waiting for mine to start slipping. But it hasn’t. Maybe mine has been changed already. At 132k. Bought it with 116k I think.

Also need to get stuff for the clutch accumulator delete. Anyone no what parts I need?

 

I believe he mentioned some type of auto-tuning software/vaporware at one time. That would be a game changer.

 

Don't think he's actually made it available yet. He did post an update about it today on Facebook FWIW.
Last week I emailed him about replacing a defunct handheld power cable and he sent me one right away

 

I was joking about that.

 

Auto tuning? Holy shit. That would be like some next level tuning crap right there. Like, whoa.

We can only dream right?

 

A lucky/not so lucky find. Found a nut stoed away on my frame. Today while filling the meth tank I noticed a header nut missing. For fun I reached under and found a second stud missing its friend too. Only thing I can think is they never got beyond finger snug. Probably because they were some of the non-nightmare access ones. Oops.

 

So much power, the nuts come loose!

 

Apparently the tool holding the wrench is inadequate

 

I do think I have exhaust leaks. Is it supposed to have a weird buzz when decelerating in low gears? Maybe the factory gaskets are singing to me.

 

Post a video pointing out exactly when it occurs and I'll tell you. I have a small whine/buzz as well when decelerating, but I know it is the blower.

 

Thanks. I never heard it until headers installed. My guess is the factory gaskets buzzing like reeds. Can we upload videos directly here?
