Angel, the tuxedo on the left is needing an emergency trip to the vet today for a cyst that has appeared on the outside of upper gums. I’m thinking it’s related to a bad tooth and pray it can easily be fixed. She’s such a good girl and want her suffering. At least she’s not crying, wincing, etc. She’s still eating with some visible difficulty.

I’m sorta worried since this is the first time I’ve eve seen something like this.

Our Enzo had the same issue, they did a "dental" and cleaned all his teeth and needed to extract two. He was up to speed within days afterwords, so hopefully you'll have good results. Apparently it is fairly common, and hard to prevent/predict. Lola was acting strange and not eating a couple months ago and it turned out to be a toothache (luckily that was all). With some antibiotics and a pain killer she was back to normal. So now we just need to keep an eye on it and go from there.

I made a comment months ago about not ever hearing about cats loosing teeth....2 weeks later my boy had to go in and had 4 teeth removed. No signs of bad teeth prior to that. My vet actually told me that he had the cleanest teeth of any adult cat shed seen.

Anyway, apparently sometimes they just out live their teeth like humans. Hope all goes well and the poor girl doesnt have anything major going on.

Years ago my girls bottom lip used to swell up every couple of months, finally tracked it down to a plastic allergy. All of her bowls are porcelain now and hasn't had a swollen lip since

Cats are so dang resilient both physically and emotionally. They usually bounce back from pretty unfortunate situations. We can all take a lesson from them. I’m sure jus watching them having fun is doing you a world of good too. The healing powers of a cat...

Yep watching them play is making me feel so much better

Another funny thing they're doing is making chattering and or chirrup sounds before they run at full speed

Hope the vet visit went well for you guys. No doubt it wasn’t cheap but it’s only money right? I imagine if it was a cyst it probably wasn’t too bad. ITT take that over an abscess any day of the week. Someone just said it but the cats we had before would occasionally have their chins blow up with these huge infections. Since then all of our cats food and water bowls are either glass or ceramic- no more plastic. Sometime it can manifest from flea allergies too.

Did not know such a thread existed :)

Maggie is the calico and Peanut is the tabby, they are a little over a year old. Two of the sweetest cats you could ask for, they come up in the bed and sleep every night, and they love to hang out on my laptop LOL!

Leaving out the fact that they were farm kittens destined to go to the SPCA... And the fact that the first family that adopted them had to let them go because unfortunately one of the children was highly alergect to them. AND that you came to the rescue and gave them both a home keeping them together.
