Anyone running 285/75 R17 Tires?

i run 285/75-17.
alignment plays a role in how much trimming is needed. I just cut the amount most people suggest for 35s so if i step up i won't have to trim again.

 

That makes perfect sense. I'm just not sure I'm ready to jump to that mich cutting yet. I was just wondering if I could get away without all the cutting haha.

 

depends on your suspension and driving too. maybe you could not cut rear but front def needs trimming.

 

The 295's fill the wheel well really good and look really beefy .

 

Bump, id love to see some more pics of those who run this size. I've pretty much decided it's what I am going with whenever my tires wear out. I'd also be interesting in seeing pics of what yall trimmed to keep them from rubbing. A big cmc is already planned, just curious about the plastic & fender trimming necessary

 

Any updates on anyone that was going to get the 285/75R17's installed. I am cut like crazy everywhere except the flare area. Is it needed to open the entire flare area all the way around to fit the 285/75R17? I know offset of wheels will play a big part of that as well. Which is why I am putting them on factory 4Runner offroad wheels first. 17x7.5 ET 15mm I have a set of spidertrax wheel spacers that if I put those on will set the outside of the wheel in the exact same spot as a 17x8.5 ET -10mm. BUMP FOR AN OLD POST AND WHAT LOOKS LIKE A PERFECT TIRE SIZE!

 

Just picked up a set of these exact wheels yesterday, planning on ST maxx 285/75 17.. Any pics not flexed by any chance?

 

Sorry, only pic I have at the moment. I was plasti-dipping the shell so it wasn't silver for the time being.

Saw this post...while not exactly what you’re looking for...I just put on some 285/70 27s and I’ve got no rubbing anywhere and didn’t have to cut anything. But there is an 1” in tire height 1/2” in ride height...and sorry to resurrect a dead thread.

 

Looks good, but this thread is for 285/75r17, which is close to 34" tall and not 32.8"

 

Yeah. Saw that. Just offering an alternative to the CMC if somebody was on the fence.

 

I will update the pics, but I just put the same tires as a couple posts up above, the 285/75R17 BFG KO's on a set of bronze Icon Compressions 17x8.5" w/ a 00 offset and they rub just slightly on the outside of the frame in the back side of the wheel well. But they look great.

 

Shhh you need to respect any man rocking 27” rims regardless of tire size..
