Well we're getting into the colder months here in the Northeast so I'll likely be in touch here in the near future. Is it possible to have the heat / ac turn on to pre-warm / pre-cool the truck?

Hint hint everyone lol...someone’s got a slight inside scoop...holidays are coming but can you deal with the incoming snow? Only time will tell how much cold you can withstand for some serious $$$ savings. If there is a sale, those who’ve already bought can be assured you will not be dealing with buyers remorse for what you paid this last N2 sale. That was one hell of a deal you all swoopt up and left me dry! I intend to make that group of guys always feel special about what they paid for being loyal! Am I going to make another wave of Tacoma owners feel equally special? Or almost just as special? Stay tuned, I will not disappoint past or future customers, that’s a promise guys!

Not made public. My resources are proprietary and furnished post sale. I ask anyone who uses my resources after buying from me to NOT post any of my instructions, or video tutorials publicly. I am 110% committed to supporting my sales and customers post sale, 0% time for anything purchased elsewhere.

Seth, I know we’ve talked, texting you some info now on the install, let me know if it doesn’t help you can also call me and I’ll walk you through it just make sure you’ve got the 3x operational first. You bought my hkey with smart if I’m not mistaken. This is off the top of my head. Let me know via text if I stand corrected and I’ll send you my other instructions.

If anyone needs any install resources, PM me.

Are you using an engine block heater? It’s not going to be good especially where you live to turn the vehicle on unless your block heater has been plugged in and running first, if I am not mistaken but what does a dude living in Los Angeles know haha...

I am assuming you’re talking about the trucks interior cabin? If so the only way is to leave it on as you exit the vehicle for the final time that day/night. The good thing about this toyota model is that the AC/Heating settings do not reset or turn off when then vehicle is shit off and restarted. Whatever settings you had whether on/off and whatever temperature and fan level will be the same the instance the vehicle is restarted. This is not true with some European vehicles. Since I can’t tie into the systems HVAC via the plug n play harness location currently and even if I could elsewhere, the remote start manufacturer/engineers/programmers have to write and enable logic within the devices controller to access that IO. Then the smart start module manufacturer has to follow suit to write code for the smart phone app to access the data registers and memory locations that allow you to edit these values as well as turn on/off HVAC. I don’t for see this happening anytime soon. It would’ve great though! So for now you must just remember to leave it on and then shutoff the vehicle. The only sucky part are for this spring and fall days where mornings require heating and day time necessitate AC. The solution to that is to leave the heater setting on the night before, then change the setting to AC (leave it on before shutting off the vehicle) as you exit for say when you get to your work destination.

Nah doesn't get cold enough here for an Engine Block heater unless it's a diesel lol

That's good to know about the HVAC, that's the main thing right there - I just simply want to have a warm ass and comfy truck at 0430 am when I'm going to work.

so my experience with n2 designs (jimmy). not much more to say but "wow". jimmy is truly dedicated to making sure everyone is taken care of.

first interaction - jimmy backed up everything he said he was going to do when he started gauging interest and selling to the tacoma community. kept everyone up to date with the status of his sales.

purchase - i first bought the 3x remote start module. shipping was fast. product was pacakaged well. then i bought the smart phone module (seperately, my doing), same as the first purchase. fast shipping and great packaging.

install - 100% plug n play! no cutting. no splicing. exactly as its being sold. install was straightforward. between the instructions, videos, and jimmy as a resource, anybody can do this. the hardest part (not hard at all) is removing the panels to get to the connections needed. install time should take everyone less than an hour, if youre going slow. but truly should not take more than 30 minutes from popping off the first panel to testing. do not be scared of installing this yourself. save yourself some money by doing it yourself and not paying someone.

product - i have the 3x remote start and the smart phone module. they do and operate exactly how its being sold. i think both products should be sold as a package. truly the 3x remote start isnt working to its full capability without the smart phone module. the only complaint i have with the product, truly about the entire transaction/experience, is the lack of distance using the oem remote to start the vehicle. this is by no means an issue with the products jimmy is selling, this is a limitation of the oem remote and is out of jimmy's hands. which is the exact reason the smart phone module was necessary for me. once i installed the smart phone module, i was 100% satisfied!!

customer service - jimmy has a dedication to anybody showing interest in his products. jimmy made our interaction very personal. from beginning to end. i even spoke to jimmy yesterday on his personal line to clarify some questions i had. hard to get that service from other companies. hes super thurough and im sure if i/you need anything from him in the future he would be more than willing to help. i feel comfortable saying if there was a "wrong" on jimmy's end, he would do anything in his power to "right" it.

from a satisfied customer, thanks for everything jimmy!

I installed the remote start and tested it, so easy thanks to the install video! Struggling right now with the smart phone module though

edit: resolved. Jimmy called and helped me trouble shoot the issue on the phone, after reading the instructions and following his directions on the phone, it was definitely MY TIMING of pushing the ignition button while programming the smart start module. Thanks for making time on a Sunday evening evening to help me figure out the issue.

Here is a quick review of the product and my experience:

    Purchase (5 out of 5)
I first found out about this remote start kit and have been waiting on a deal for over a year. When Jimmy (@jayrobot ) first posted the plug-and-play kit with the smart phone module add-on, I missed the deal. I PM'd him and let him know that I was still interested and he responded to let me know that he will keep me posted. Within a week, it was available and at an AWESOME price again. I decided to purchase it then. Jimmy kept me posted through every step of the process (there was a slight delay because the manufacturer sent him a CDMA module instead of a GSM smart phone module add-on, which I understand he could have just sent us and left us with it but I agree that GSM is a better idea, so the delay wasn't a problem at all). Once he got the right stuff, he sent the kit and the add-on via USPS priority mail and the tracking info. Got it within a few days.

    Product (5 out of 5)
This is the first time I have ever had a remote starter. I have looked into it and know that the cost of the kit + professional installation would have easily costed me over $500. Buying this from Jimmy was a much better deal and the kit is 100% plug-and-play (both the remote starter kit and the smart phone add-on module). It works great and exactly as described. The ability to track the vehicle and be able to turn it on from ANYWHERE is a badass feature. LOVE IT!

    Installation (5 out of 5)
I wouldn't have been able to say 5 for this but the fact that Jimmy called me on a Sunday evening to make sure that I got it working ABOVE AND BEYOND the support I was expecting. I followed the instructions for the remote start kit by following the youtube video, it took me LESS THAN 1 HOUR including the smart phone add-on module. I had a little trouble following the instructions for the smart phone add-on but the call with Jimmy took about 20 mins and it was easily resolved. He even stayed on the phone to actually hear the truck turn on when I used the app to test it. (I think after some feedback from a few people, he is going to re-write the instructions so its easier for the others buying it moving forward)

Customer Service (5 out of 5)
Jimmy's communication throughout the whole process was amazing and again, him taking the time to call me on a Sunday evening to ensure that I got the whole thing working 100% properly was GREAT! Looking forward to dealing with him again. I think its sold out on the site right now but PM him and definitely get its back in stock. He said he can get the kit for other models as well. I am probably going to buy a kit for my mom's 2013 RAV4 as well.

    Thanks again Jimmy!

All five of you whom called today (Sunday) are up and running with your remote starts and smart units. I can sleep tonight. Anyone else struggling let’s get’r done. PM me and I’ll give you my direct line. I learned today that I may have to re write the instructions for the smart unit, as some things may not have been clear to a few. Great feedback!just glad everyone is up and running!

You hit it right on the nail brother. I dont know of ANY other company or seller that goes that far above and beyond what Jimmy is doing to make sure he has happy customers. All of my questions have been answered and any issues i had during the install was handled by Jimmy within a few hours, even on the weekend. I got a call from him at 8pm Hawaii time and was like dude, do you ever sleep! Oh, i also want to mention that while He was helping me with an issue, he was physically helping another local guy with his install. Talk about dedication! If anybody is on the fence about purchasing this remote start kit or intimidated about the install process, dont be. If you have any problems, Jimmy will take care of you. As with the smart phone module, i would definitely get that add on. My previous truck had the remote start function, but i didnt use it as much because i needed to be close to my truck, now i can get off the plane, start her up and have a nice cool interior by the time i walk to where i have her parked. Best money spent!

Thanks again Jimmy for all your help and dedication to your product and customers.

No comparison. I go above and beyond the norm and anyone else to make sure you’re happy. You’re not just another number to me. I make it personal to make sure you’re beyond satisfied! Ask the others or read what some have said so far! Tell me a business owner (I challenged you) who gives out his personal cell and helps you get it going on a Saturday or Sunday without restrictions on hours of operation. I don’t sleep if you're struggling and I know about it!

Post #77 and pages 6 & 7 should answer this for you as the verdicts are slowly trickling in if you’re on the fence, but now you’ll have to wait till I’m restocked.

I originally was looking into 12volt solutions and sure glad I ended up going with N2 Designs instead. N2 is the same product with a better cell module and was significantly cheaper. With 12volt you are paying for marketing and a fancy website. The N2 was so simple to install. Best Mod I've done so far. With winter coming, the N2 is a no brainer.

I installed the x3 with the smart phone module this past weekend with nothing more than a screwdriver on my '18 OR. On Saturday morning, Jimmy took the time to walk me through an issue I stupidly created by not unpacking all the contents of the unit. Kinda felt silly soon as I noticed my mistake as there would have been no need to call Jimmy for tech-support on a Saturday. Nonetheless, he walked me through it and made sure everything was setup correctly and working. It is so cool starting my car remotely from my phone.
