Yeah i have a D80 and that diopter will throw everything off if u do manual focus and its not set correctly. I would start there and than snap a few photos and see how they look. Also if u have too small of a depth of field like on the 50mm it will make half the subject blurry.

    RE: Blinking Circle

Every lens has a minimum focusing distance, it's the minimum amount of space that must be present btw u and the subject in order for it to take an in-focus shot. On Canons (And I'd assume Nikons too) the solid circle means your fully focused. The flashing circle means your too close and the minimum focusing distance hasn't been achieved.

is it just with the new lens or does it do it now with all of your lenses? Could be bad AF in the lens housing...but I don't know too much about the lenses themselves...oh...and I have an old ass Canon rebel. lol

The image of your bench looks like it is exposed correctly, maybe just a smidge under exposed if at all. The first image of the truck is the only one that the highlights are not completely blown out.
What was the ISO set at?

looks like its getting better... I use manual focus because the auto focus is too finicky... give that a try

use your own eye to gauge the focus the auto focus is good if you are using the pre determined canned settings... once you start screwing with the settings auto focus get finicky

Check your camera manual to see if you have mirror lockup. The mirror can be swung up separately from when the exposure is made. This prevents mirror vibrations which may blur the image during close-ups or when a super telephoto lens is used.

they all look correct but the macro lens one. But also macro is usually used for very close up shots so the distance might be messing up the AF. All the other ones looked fine.

Pay no attention to anyone who mentions metering when you're talking about blurry pics. Metering affects exposure and not focus.

Post a 100% crop shot of your grill emblem in your first pic in this thread. I want to see what it looks like at full size.
