I really need to get better videos of my Sand Drag passes. I have one.. but its old (back when I was on my 2.8 and no re-gear)... and it would still own the drags. A couple fully built trucks were the only competitors out there. I cant even imagine what its like now...

EDIT: and I go fully loaded (rack, tent, roof rack full of gear, etc)

While on top of that, still being a reliable daily driver.

You know what helps a lot is that we run a very similar weight to many high horsepower cars (Dodge Charger SRT8, 300 SRT8, GTO, Gen 6 Camaro SS etc.) And because of that we have the capability if we are properly setup, to beat them, badly if they don't know how to contain their power at the wheels. For us 4x4 guys we even have the ability to 4x4 launch at drag races.

I think it shocks them because you look at the truckand think it weighs a ton off the gate, which they do, but is no more than their own junk. If you have the power to go with it too, they're in huge trouble.

The local sand drags here along Lake Michigan are closed for the season, but I'm very much looking forward to next summer and surprising the v8s again. Hopefully will have the JFR ypipe and version 2 of OVTune to test out.

Really though! I have had little to no problems with my truck both before and after I boosted it. Most of the issues I've had have been self inflicted and at that it's simple crap, like busted CV's, MAF replacements, Spark plugs and oil changes.

I wonder if the new Ranger or even Colorado/Canyon sisters have any boosted options? Even developing a blower for a 3rd gen Tacoma 3.5 seems far out. The Atkinson 3.5 in the 3rd gens never appealed to me.

definitely. 4x4 launch with an Automatic and a valve body is pretty damn hard to beat. I would put it up against any other Tacoma setup out there (beefed up manual, non-4wd, etc)

I surprise everyone out there. Diesels, v8's, anythign with 4wd, etc.. the power to weight, plus mods.. and a quick reaction time = win.

thats the last thing Im waiting on.. the tune..

How do you get 16lbs of boost in the stock pulley? Or was the crank pulley changed

I’m 2.6 pulley hitting 10-11 psi with no belt slip. Maybe due to being xrunner. Not trying to move all that 4x4 weight and bigger tires?

You guys have year-round sand drags? I'm jealous

I did the locker anytime mod specifically for the sand drag launches. Just ran out of time to test it out this season.

I surprise a lot of people on the regular, and scare beamer and Mercedes snobs driving around in convertibles when the blower winds up.

It's really not that big a deal. 4x4 just adds more weight to haul around.

    Then again I run 32's.

That's my plan. Launch in 4HI with locker engaged. 3 wheels spinning vs one on each axel.

Plus I can already tell the IPT VB will make a huge difference compared to the sluggish shifting stock.
