Here is the first attempt. 1/4"
There is a gap where the plate mounts to the bumper support. (stock plate mounting location).
The picture doesn't look like the OEM skid mounting location because its not. Its mounting to my bumper but the bumper mounts at the stock OEM skid location so it should be the same.
I want to verify that soon though.

Also not pictured in the steel plate are the two mounting supports that I need to weld on. Just like the stock skid. This is going to be slow progress.

So looking at pictures on budbuilts website (complete skid packages) the skid sets look identical, I realized the only difference was the 4runner didn’t need the crossmember for the rear skid. That was the only difference I could find.

Not enough to have a build thread.
Unless you're worried about copywriters issues, you could also add a reinforecembt bracket like they do at the rack and pinion. I think some additional bracket or something will be necessary besides the factory mounting locations.

And many of us with a 1" diff drop would appreciate you accommodating that.

Holy crap, it's been over a year.
Sorry guys I got carried away with my job. I lost the energy I had of when I was fresh out of school and working full time.
Now I enjoy relaxing on weekends and not messing around with side projects like this. I have some cad files if anyone wants to play around with them.
I made that first part and then got side tracked with other stuff.

Building drawer system right now, I will also have cad for that that I will post up. That's moving along nicely.

    PS:
If anyone wants the skid, let me know. You can have it. Get me some beers, if you're not of age, just take it.
Theres really not much needed to make it work, I just have other priority right now. Focusing on fishing and I don't wanna weigh the truck down with 1/4".
I get enough trail done the way it is, if it comes to that I'll get the bud built.
    Cheers

Forgot about this thread, ended up going with some 4xinnovations skids during their last Black Friday deal. I think it was like 3-400 for the front and mid skid shipped, too good to pass up. Their front skid is 1/4” as well.
