Got my ARE Overland Bed Top.

Pretty pumped to get my dogs in here and go camping. I got two rows of LEDs running along the ceiling inside and got some mesh cage installed over the side windows so the dogs can have air without jumping out.

This model was a little pricier but the plastic dipped edges are supposed to strengthen the stress points during off roading.

My only complaint so far is that the lights won't turn on unless the car is in accessory mode. Would prefer to be able to turn them on with the truck off but I can see the safety in requiring the truck being powered on, prevents me from flipping then on and forgetting them killing the battery.

Also peeled off all the branding stickers after taking these pictures. Just prefer the cleaner look. The foam stickers on the plastic were the most difficult, but nothing a little elbow grease couldn't get.

    Cool Stuff.

I've recently been toying with the idea of pulling my shell and reinstalling in an attempt to get a little more water/dust proof. My issue is even with the relatively mild offroading I do the shell wanders all over the bed thanks to the weak bed rails.

What are your plans for sealing the corners of the bed near the cab? I think that's where I'm seeing the majority of water intrusion.

I would be curious as to what people have come up with for this as well. I have a softtopper and kept seam sealer over and over because I would have water in the corners of the bed near the cab, then I noticed those openings in the bed and figured that is where most of it is coming from.

Not a new mod but an on again off again mod that I use often....., my Darby Industries Extend-A-Truck. Used it to haul my canoe for a morning of waterfowling.
Best mod I've ever put on and taken off my Taco. Stores nicely in the bed and I carry it 99% of the time. Makes any pickup much more versatile especially if you drive a SB. Every vehicle with a 2" receiver and a drop down tailgate should own one of these even a, YUUKK!, station wagon.

Careful, I just got mine and was going to camp in it last weekend. Getting ready noticed it was way too much gas coming off. Not sure if its the liner or adhesives but decided to wait. I am gassy enough, combo might kill my dog.

    Welcome to TW Mario.
Not that kind of wagon, the traditional 70's style family station wagon. The original SUV. The one your father or grandfather used to drive when going hunting, fishing, to little league ball games or on family road trips.

Found a used '17 Access Cab with a topper on it at a local dealer. Called them and talked to their sales mgr, whom I knew from being in the car business for 25 years. He told me they'd take $500 and a case of ice cold bud light bottles, lol. I couldn't pass it up. Shell is a month old. Gonna cost me $350 to have it painted to match my truck. Local Leer dealer said it would be $1900 new. WHENEVER I make a deal I always have to feel like I got the better end of the deal. I pretty sure I did here...
