The bolt holding my uniball adapter to my LCA continually comes loose. I am using a grade ten bolt with a nylon locking nut torqued as tight as I can get it.

Would using a second nut / jammer nut be appropriate? Any other ideas on how to keep this thing tight?

If you haven't tried lock tight I would I used blue Locktight on mine and it hasn't moved. If you have tried lock tight maybe you might need a new locking nut?:notsure:

Tack it on? Or maybe 1/16” drill bit and some safety wire?

Try searching around for aviation hardware like this site or A&P techs at a local airport might have something for you.

    Yes
A jam nut is a good idea, do not use loctite on nylocks it breaks down the nylon. If you want to try loctite use a regular but.

    QUESTION:

Super loud squeaking/creaking coming from both sides of my front suspension. I am running camburg LT kit with kings. I bought new uniballs as well as new bushings for the UCA. Does anyone think thatll do the trick or could i possibly be dealing with something else? The noise appears to be coming from the top of the suspension but could very well be coming from the lower control arm. Any other replacement suggestions?

    Thanks

Use a stover nut. Its a metal locking nut . No nylon

Squeak and creak sounds like a uni-ball.

Get some tri-flow dry lube on Amazon and pour a bunch on. If the noise goes away you've found the source.

The fix is a new uni-ball or a louder radio. I lean towards the latter.

Actually it's best not to spray it with anything and just wash them with high pressure water. Lube will just attract contaminates and destroy the Teflon liner.

Plus every uni ball I've lubed just makes more noise later. The ones I leave alone stay silent

Absolutely leave them alone. I just wash with a hose and ignore. but once the noise starts lube is the only way to make it stop, other than new uni-balls.

ETA: I'm running uni-ball suspension in the north east, where we have road salt and sand all winter. So half the year its like I'm driving on on dirt every day.

Garage goals engaged....Finished up my garage and wanted to share something different.

What a difference some DIY magic went a long way. Floor to ceiling caulk, patch, and paint. 4 led shop lights, led motion lights, new Ryobi wifi belt drive opener with fan and parking lasers, and security devices. Epoxied floor grey with flakes and a polycuramide clear top coat. New Era cabinets, custom backsplash, under cabinet lighting, and BT subwoofer system. It's not the best garage with a fleet of Ferraris in it and lifts but I did it my self and I'm enjoying every bit of work put in. I spend more time out there in the man cave than I do the living room.

I'm pretty convinced it's truck (read driver and geography) dependent on what makes them shut up and what doesn't.

I only wish I could get 2 years out of a set...

Dry Teflon lubricants like Triflow do not contain heavy oils and do not leave a residue that will attract dust or dirt. Spraying it into a uniball refreshes the Teflon liner and will reduce noise and in milder applications can extend the life of the uniball itself. Very common practice.
