So over the last few months, I have ordered pieces to my truck which require modification in which I can't turn back from (high clearance bumper, etc).

I am getting to the point where I am investing a good chunk of money on my 2006 truck, which has 187,000 miles on it. I have kept up with all the services, etc. and know everything is good to go on it.

My question is, if you were in my position and you had the money to buy a new truck: would you

    A. buy the new truck and install all the new parts onto it

    or

    B. keep modifying your existing 187k truck

I would be switching from this silver DCLB to a 2014 white DCSB with 27k on the odo. Pic of my truck below!

Truck I would be switching to below (Kings, 35’s, 27k miles, 2014)

I'd keep the existing one and keep modding it. Already put the time and effort into it. Unless you had real issues with the current truck, save the cash for a daily driver or more mods.

    Nice rig you have.
If you’ve done well for yourself financially and simply just want something new then do it. I would.

Just keep it, you’re this deep in...might as well accomplish what you want out of your rig. :D And it looks bad ass!

I think I should add a few points! Thank you for everyone responding.

My truck would be put back to stock - All parts come off. I transfer over bumpers.

The new truck has been modded tastedully with Kings and 35’s. Here is a picture for an example.

I would be spending ~13k out of pocket to go from 187k miles on a 2006, to 27k on a 2014. That’s the part I am trying to figure out if it’s worth doing!

Keep your current truck. As the saying goes, "better the devil you know than the devil you don't"

I agree with this but that low mileage on the 2014 would be tempting.

I'd keep your current beast, but that is a hard choice. The tipping point for me is loosing a foot of bed space that I'd kill for as a DCSB.

I'm in the same boat as you. I love my truck to pieces, but I found a good deal on a SWEET LC200 with similar "trade in" numbers compared to my current taco. Took me the better part of the morning to decide to keep my DCSB.

    Here’s another question for ya’ll

What would you pay for this truck: 2014 DCSB
    27,000 miles, overall “good” condition

    Suspension:
King 2.5" extended travel front coilovers with remote reserviors
    Total Chaos Upper Control Arms
King 2.5" rear shocks with remote reserviors
    Dakar leaf pack

    Armour:
Front tube bumper (prerunner style) bolt on and powder coated (selling and putting on my ARB)
Demello Offroad bolt on frame rock sliders

    Wheels and Tires:
Falken Wildpeak MT 315/75r16 35" (front fenders trimmed for clearance)
FN Wheels Matte Bronze 16x8 -20mm

    Extra Upgrades:
    20% tint all around
    TRD Pro Grill
    Flowmaster 40 Series muffler

I absolutely love the DCLB, but I have a Go Fast Camper setup coming and I pack very, very light.
