Oh, and more background on this, I am looking to do away with my chrome grill. I was going to paint over it. Do you guys think this would be a better route to go vs. painting it black?

I too am looking for a color matched grill. The best i have found is $225 from the dealer. I know a lot of guys on here have sanded and sprayed their own. I have spoken to two paint shops in town and they both refused to do it saying that in the long run the paint wont stick. What do i know (nothing) that is what they told me.

I bought a grill off of ebay 1 before the pictures showed a BSP surround...when it arrived it was chrome...I got my refund and made the seller pay for return shipping...

just make sure its exactly what your looking for and ask for tons of pics or else you might have to go through a refund process like i had to.

    Actually I used herculiner.
It turned out ok. I've touched it up since I mounted it though. I think I have some pics posted later in that thread.

Yea, it will be a little bit, Im going to paint my skid, and wheels black. Debadge and leave all off except for the "tacoma" and then only put the tacoma ones back on painted black as well.

Im still trying to figure out what to do for the bumper. Any thoughts? I dont know how I feel about painting over chrome.

    Notice I hate chrome?!?

The rear bumper. As much as I would love to buy a new bumper, thats not gonna happen.
I wanna take the factory one, and make it black somehow or another. I dont want to use bedliner on it for sure as Ive seen others do, but I worry about painting over it, as it will just come off over time Id think.

I'm in the same boat as you. Only thing I have left chrome to remove is the rear bumper. I've PM'd a few guys asking if they'd like to trade base black bumpers for my chrome but nobody responds :(
I've even thought about going around and leaving notes on base trucks I see. I do like that aftermarket bumper in the post above though. looks sweet but probably outside my price range haha.

I even have been calling around to the junkyards around here once a month to see if they have any tacomas, but they are much more rare around here than elsewhere like CA. I dont want to have to purchase one, just wanna figure something out with mine. If I figure anything out, Ill let you know as well.
