Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I don’t think it would’ve took this long to release 1.05 if Matt had access to all their codes to help them write their TSB.

 

Keep in mind mat is aware that every Tacoma seems to act very different from each other. So the entirety of this month was spent on testing with many trucks to get things as perfect for every truck as possible

 

I agree. I kept waiting to have the the TSB installed due to 1.05 delays. Got it done a couple weeks ago. I installed 1.04R yesterday and it's pretty good. If 1.05 is actually much better than 1.04R and doesn't learn over time it'll be well worth the cost.

 

@KTJO 4x4 may be able to help. Not exactly the set up you asked about but close. She has 4:88 with 35's

 

I respectfully disagree if your talking about 1.04. I think the TSB is faaar better than 1.04, but 1.04r is above the TSB for the power improvements.

 

The truck wouldn’t have such a drivability problem if it was geared correctly from the factory. It’s an uphill battle to get the truck right as it is stock let alone once you add bigger and heavier tires into the equation. People with 4.88 gears on stock tune have great results.

 

So you don’t think that Mat just incorporated the TSB to create 1.04r?! That’s what he said he did, and he said that the reason 1.05 didn’t make the 9/1 date was because Toyota kept releasing TSBs, he literally said blame Toyota. That sounds like a TW circle jerking rumor to me.

Let’s just give Toyota a little credit here.

I'm pretty sure this has been put to rest a while ago... They reached out to him to help tune the Camry for a racing platform.. or something like that. But he mentioned it had zero to do with the Tacoma.

That was long after the TSB and long into 1.05 delay. Whatever it doesn’t matter, can’t wait for the release to see if 1.05 lives up to the hype.

 

So what’s wrong with giving credit for helping us get out. I think it should have been a recall, but am thankful they worked on it and released a fix.

It’s not recall worthy though, recalls are usually reserved for an issue that can lead to injury or death like a certain air bag company that sent shrapnel flying out of the airbag itself
