10-12" of snow... I guess meteorologists get to be correct once in a blue moon.

Great day to work on finishing a deck.

It is a real 4wd, not awd. You have to switch in the transfer case. I think there might possibly be a locker option for the rear that happens to be a live axle. I wish I had some disposable income at this point. I need to sell the Highlander.

$7k in taxes? What did he say the valve was? 100k?

The should be able to claim the ACV of the vehicle and be sub $1k

edit: I'm skewed though. My local tax is only 3.25% because unincorporated.

I've never run into that claiming all my vehicles tax at $500 cash purchase price. Was it western slope? Cranky DMV person?

He didn't say, but it's not only your registration taxes, I'm guessing that you will also get to claim the trucks value as something you won, which is adding $40k (at least) to your taxable income, possibly pushing you up at least a tax bracket, etc.

Ya. He would have to basically tack on the value of the truck as ordinary income and pay taxes based upon his tax bracket.

Yup, figuring a $40k value, which is probably low since he wanted it maxed for his tax purposes... Stick that in a 20% bracket and you're already at $8k just for that. Free shit... aint free.

But hey, at least he can deduct the cost of the ticket! So its only $39,900. Much better.
