I remember us wheeling RI last year, I think it was the Christmas run and we passed two sets of hunters.
One pair had an F150, they said they weren't seeing anything.
I'm not worried. I don't think they mistake a Taco for a Buck.

Be warned I will not make a mudslide with ice cream. Booze and ice only!

dude I don't even wanna talk about haha. I keep working on my truck like once a week so I haven't gotten anything done. My rears won't hold an adjustment so I've been trying to figure out what the problem is. But I wouldn't be able to make it to this event anyway cause I'm working.

In what way is it not holding adjustment? When you turn the star wheel to push the shoes out to catch the drum you are saying thats just not happening and its losing adjustment? Am confusion

I adjust the brakes, then test the ebrake on my driveway (which is a hill)-it works.I then drive the truck and after a few seconds of driving I hear a clicking that seems related to wheel speed, and a grinding when turning, and when I test the ebrake on that same hill after driving it won't hold the truck.

I assume you have checked cable tension and all other components related to it Already? We had a parts van that ended up doing that and the e brake arm and activating lever was all seized inside

I have a feeling thats whats going on too...repaired an e brake cable on my GF's volvo...same thing would happen: pulled handle, it would hold the car. As soon as I drove forward and back, wouldn't hold. It ended up being that lever inside had completely seized over time, brake clean wasn't going to touch it. As soon as I freed it up (actually found I had to do this to both sides)...voila, working e brake again.
More hair pulling and swearing w/rear drum brakes than most any other wrenching...

Yepppp takes a hell of a lot more than brakleen to free those things up, hammer and pb has been my go to. But taco drum brakes arent that bad and the arm is fairly easy to free up, im sure @BananaPeelOut will be good in no time as long as he checks the arms and cables good!

i adjust it down just so the drums fits over the shoes. and I double check the ebrake holds the wheels.

^ In the replacement process I cleaned the ebrake arm assembly and I know that when I pull the ebrake handle, the shoes expand. Good idea tho, thank you!!

Thank you! I thought replacing my power steering pump was gonna be the hard part but that was a cakewalk compared to troubleshooting this bullshit ha!

You'll want to go on the backside of the drum and turn the star wheel and spin the tire and wait for a slight drag. Lot of clicks for a small adjustment. Like 5 clicks, check, 5 clicks, check

Just note which way you have to turn the star wheel, since you'll be on the other side of the backing plate trying to move the star wheel
