    I tried having a raised bed garden nothing grew cept weeds. That's what we want it for to construct a gravity feed watering system.

    When we had raised beds it took a couple of years for things to take. Was sad to see them go but the garage was a must. Loosin' that big 'ol Manitoba Maple was a big hit. Beautiful tree it was. Just keep pullin those weeds, it will come around with a bit of help.

    Look around for a local book if you can. Soils varry greatly between areas. This used to be an ancient lake bed so a lot of clay. We actually had to add sand & peat to get the right balance but once we got things straight, the results were amazing.
