I was going to attempt to cook a turkey in the forest this thanksgiving. Dig a hole, fill it with coals, wrap the turkey in foil and all the fixin's and cover it with coals, cover all that with some dirt. Wait 4 hours and dig it all up (dirt dutch oven turkey).

Sadly, everyone has a life and loved ones so, id be doing this all for myself lol (i typically camp alone on holidays :sadviolin:)

I thought so too. Also because the forest is EMPTY on thanksgiving and christmas.

I tried to sell it to my family and friends as a "to the roots" thanksgiving. All primal n shit.

No one bought what i was selling lol

    Some really cool shit
Moved into new warehouse. We have a two piece security fence that is used for roll up doors. Could be used for any garage, i suppose. Secures opening while allowing the door to remain up.

It does not fit the opening at the new place. Extends out to approximately 13’4”.

Free if anyone wants it. You pick up.

Pic is only of one piece. It’s two pieces, and secures in the middle.

Sounds like fun. Every year we go to Oregon to visit my family for Thanksgiving and the next day me and my buddies up there bring a bunch of leftovers go wheeling out the woods and then build a big fire and heat everything up in tinfoil on the fire. it’s always a lot of fun.

So my new headlights for my truck showed up in the mail last night and I went to put them in and realized I had to pull my front bumper to get my old headlights out and the new ones in:rant:
Turned out good other than taking twice as long as I thought it would.

Theres a traeger drumstick recipe that I think I'll copy (since it turned out bomb) except go a little longer since they're thighs...

    Thanks for the temps!

Any time estimates? I'm thinking like 3 - 4 hours.

    Copy this recipe: https://www.traegergrills.com/recipes/poultry/bbq-chicken-drumsticks

But go 45, flip, 45, then about an hour and a half in a Dutch oven or foil to retain moistness

The true test is when the leg will pull off of the thigh with little to no force. At least thats when I pull em off the grill and let em rest for about 15 minutes before consuming. Unless you prefer the thermometer method...

Typically i only follow time on ribs. Everything else, I do by temp. Mostly because i'm too drunk to make a good decision and a good temp probe won't lie and make me sick. For chicken though, good when the juices run clear.
