Sorry, wasn't trying to step on your toes. I'm just hoping to get something locked in, so I can sort out and prioritize time with other commitments that keep popping up.

You can see from my list above that Bertw192, Tonered, Eazy.E and Cbenfell are open to the 17th, so you can add us to your list under the first comment.

As for location suggestions, it really depends if we want to keep this North, South, East or West.

South, logging roads off of Hwy 410 around the Grass Mountain.

North, logging roads off of Hwy 2 in the cascades, east of Stevens pass.

    East, Stampede Pass.

West, Shelton and Lake Cushman area.

    Thanks

Which of those allow some speed?

I'm not sure what you mean by "allow". Legally allowed, or road conditions permit? Honestly, I've only used these roads (accept for Stampede Pass) to access cell sites, as I'm an engineer specializing in cellular design. But in my experience, there's no posted speed limit and you're only limited by the abuse you want to put your truck through. None of these roads, up until the cell sites, are that bad. Mostly just wash boarded logging roads.

What do you have in mind?

Lol, yeah I don't asnt talking about posted speed limits.
I'm a desert guy (from CA) and I don't really like slow off-roading for prolonged periods of time. At that point I'd choose hikin or mountain biking cuz I see more, finish he trail in the same time or faster and am active. Hence my question

You might be a bit disappointed, depending? The FS roads that I've seen are going to limit you to about 25mph max in the best conditions. If not ruts and washouts, then gravel and most of the corners are blind. You can run them a lot faster on bikes, but there are risks in wider stuff. Hell, I was on my street bike in Oregon moving faster than Jeeps because I could pick my way between rocks, ruts, and big roots.

That said, I have never been bored. You're going to see a lot of great nature and views.

Anything with some spots to farm some lead would be awesome. Could get some *pew pew* in afterwards if it's not too late. Either way, stoked to meet and wheel with y'all.

If everyone going is ok with firearms (don't want an uncomfortable situation for wives and children) I also have some fun toys to bring. If anyone is against it, I'll gladly leave them at home.

If you do stampede to greenwater there's some good places to misbehave, just be sure to be safe. I've set up spotters on the switchbacks for a drift course before. It's fun. And the bottom toward Lester is pretty good road. I've hit triple digits there, but it was when it was deserted. And probably not safe.

There's almost always at least one dog, so my habit is to take em and look for an opportunity, but it doesn't always work out. Actually, the only one I've really gotten any extended use out of is my quiet one.

With what? Just curious, coming from someone who will graze the ton on my bike when it is safe.

I'm impressed. I was thinking you might have been in one of Dirt Fish's cars.

Where you pop out in greenwater is about 3 minutes from a good tavern. Decent food, no internet.

    I'm down for that.

Separate issue, do ya'll use CB's or walkie talkies for communication? I won't be buying a CB for this trip, but if there's a walkie talkie that I could buy, and tune into the right channel, for this trip, I'd order one from Amazon.

I've got a loaner CB if you want it, or a loaner ham if I can find it.

There's some spots to Hoon out stampede way. Our lowboy driver managed an 18 wheel drift the other day.

I appreciate that, but I'd better find a more permanent solution, in case I can't mooch off of you in the future. I'll probably take @tonered's advice below, unless anyone says otherwise.

    Thanks again!

Challenge accepted. I wonder if the window company would even notice if I came home that way....
