Not sure if anyone else has this problem and came up with a solution without having to replace the Toyota OEM tub style mats.

I've got an access cab, 6 speed manual and now realize the mats around the foot well /foot rest on the left had side is too big and is not supported by the foot rest beneath the mat. There is about an inch where there is nothing beneath supporting the mat. The image below is one I pulled from TW and added the arrow to show what I meant regarding foot rest.

I'm thinking of affixing a piece of wood beneath it or a similar support but was wondering if anyone had a better solution.

Either that or sue Toyota for $1.2 billion - https://nypost.com/2014/03/19/toyota-to-pay-1-2b-settlement-in-vehicle-acceleration-lawsuit/

Sounds like you have the automatic transmission specific mats.

This is what I'm worried about....that the dealership gave me the wrong freaking mats. It didn't say on the box that the mats were specific to manual or auto trucks so I didn't catch it.....

Do you know if they even make a specific floor mat for the manual transmissions?

    Mostly stuff I built.
The manual transmission mats have “manual transmission” molded into them. Pretty easy to tell if you have the right ones.

My auto and manual were very different floor mats. So there's definitely a difference.

I'll take a look tonight - must be on the side facing the carpet.

Well it looks like the advice on this thread is correct, it says it right on the mat that mine are for automatic transmissions.

I called the parts department of the dealership and fortunately they were very good to deal with and put in an order for the correct mats (PT908-35175-20 for a manual transmission). I just need to drop off my old mats this weekend (don't have the original box) in exchange for the new ones.

Thanks for eveyone's help in this thread.
