What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Correct. I don’t see how it would make a different from what I saw.

 

You still have the spacers? Try them now. Should be good.

 

The lift gives you clearance. Might still rub on the frame at full lock but should be minor which is nothing.

You'll like the increased wider stance too, truck will feel more planted & not as top heavy with the lift.

 

I had a 1" spacer with my 3rd gen wheels. No issues at all. But I had a stock tire on too, so I took them off and theres no issue now either, I just wasn't fond of the concept of spacers.

 

Pretty sure anything beyond the air box doesn't matter.

 

I’ll have to borrow them from Jon again, when I convert my trailer hubs to 6x5.5 I’ll have to get them again because the Turd Gen wheels are definitely not going to fit on my trailer without spacers.

 

I'm not a fan of spacers either but Tyler likes his wheels. In that case I would run the spacers now that he's lifted. Since he's got 265s with 3" lift, the stance is too narrow with so much BS & would look funny IMO

 

I’m not a huge fan of spacers either. The rubbing is very very minimal and I only notice it 5% of the time when I’m driving the truck. I think I’ll just live with it for now.

 

Stance doesn’t look too bad IMO.

I’ll try spacers when I have another set, if I like em I’ll keep them.

 

@rseesparky They’re bump stops. Those are upgraded versions of the stock ones on the truck. Their purpose is to prevent the axle from contacting the body/frame of the truck.

 

That's cause you're used to it now. I don't like froggy looking stances but I would never go narrower than what I have now.

 

Definitely going to have to buy a set for my trailer.

I’m crazy and I bought matching Turd gen wheels.

 

The stance is even worse with 2nd gen wheels than it was with my 3rd geners by about 3/8". But hopefully I can get my 3rd gen 4Runner wheels powdercoated before Christmas and bring it out some to stock, which was even with the fender flare.

I traded a set of horns for two wheels so I don’t think I did so bad. Haha.

 

I dont like spacers either, but im struggling to find a 17" wheel thats not terribly expensive with the correct BS. My current tire size is 275/70/17. my next tire will likely be a 315/70/17

some Amazon seller shipped to the wrong address even though they confirmed with me that they would ship to the address in my request to them. Same day they confirmed I get notification that my rotors and pads are being shipped to the wrong address. What a bunch of dumbasses...
