Quick question for those of you with progressive AALs. I have decided on the 4th notch on the 6112 and hoping it settles to 2”. I am planning on a 3 leaf AAL in the rear but can’t decide if I should keep the OL or not. Would I have bro lean if I took it out and had 2”-2.5” in the front? I’d prefer slight rake so I don’t have bro lean when I load the bed.

If you gonna load the bed keep the overload leaf in....it’s the reason for it being there.

Hey Guys- Marie from HS said Bilstein has a shortage of 5160s and said all she could send me are 2 passenger side 5160s. She said they are the exact same shocks other than the driver side hardware kit. I love Marie and HS but just want to triple check this will work and they are in-fact the same shocks other than the supplied driver side hardware?

"The 5160’s from left to right are the exact same with the exception that the left shocks come with a brake line extension bracket hardware bag."

I should have been more specific. She had sent a driver and passenger in the mail. Apparently it got damaged in shipping. So since they are low on stock, they only had 2 passenger shocks. But they do have the driver side hardware kit. So thats what they are sending me. I contacted Bilstein directly and they confirmed the driver and passenger are the exact same shock... only the driver comes with the hardware bag.

Yeah I hear that. Just was wondering if anyone else could confirm they are the same shock... but the only difference being the brake line kit.

Same shortage was going on when I bought mine from HS. L and R 5160's are identical shocks + reservoir mounting hardware except one has the brake line bracket relocate kit in the box.

It’s debatable, but you don’t necessarily need it

Curious. I'm ordering mine next week. So many people were complaining about the way the ebrake mounted to the OME leaf pack I was hoping it would help.

It doesn’t. It’s placed on the axle, not on the leafs.

Question for everyone. If you refer to the install instructions for the 6112s:

    https://productdeskapi.cart.bilsteinus.com/media/products/bilstein/E4-WM5-Y520A00_1.pdf

It explains installing the springs yourself. The first part seems to instruct to reuse the OE upper mount and then align the top of the spring to a previously marked area. My question is, if I've ordered them from HS already assembled... how did they get the OE upper mount?

I'm probably missing something here, but figured I'd ask.

shock is the same - The only difference I could see is the bracket part is included in one. As long as they are sending you the brake line relo bracket you should be fine.

The assembly price includes the price of a OEM upper mount. When I got them from HS pre assembled, it had a new one on there.

Ordering assembled is a good answer. I ordered mine one place, bought KYB top hats from Amazon and then paid a local shop to assemble them. In the end It was more work and I spent the same $$ I would have for assembled units from Wheelers or HS.

Awesome day I finally got my lift installed today. Very happy with it so far just drove it home on the interstate and all seems well with it. 6112’s set on the 5th notch, 5160’s and medium Dakar’s. Sorry I forgot to measure before lift this morning before dropping it off. Thanks to marie @HeadStrong Off-Road for all your help!!! I love it!!!
