They are 2 ply as compared to others that are 3 ply like the KO2 and yes these I posted are E rated.

Hey guys just looking for some input, I have a 4 cylinder and I am looking for new tires. I was originally looking at 265/75r16 Ko2s but I saw they were spec'd at 53 pounds which is about 20 pounds per tire more which is way more weight than I want to add to the truck. However, I recently stumbled upon this thread and saw the praise you guys have been giving this tire and now I think this may be my best option for an aggressive light weight allterrain. So what do you guys think about a 265/75r16 SL do you think it would work? Also I noticed they are out of stock at discount tire direct so does anybody know when they are coming back in stock?

I think you’d really like them, mine look awesome and ride great. They are a bit rougher and louder than stock, however I knew that going into it so no big deal. I don’t think they stock anything but E, I believe the other would need to be special ordered. Pull the trigger, they look great and perform great as well in my first week of ownership.

I bought a set of them 285/70/17 on my 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD sport 4x4 and I have had them rebalanced 4 different times now and still cant get the vibration out. They have 180'd all four of them and think they are just out of round. I am going back to the KO2's Saturday. I liked the tire and it had very little road noise it just vibrated me to death!!! I'm sorry to hear about the vibration troubles, bmsgolf! I know how frustrating that is so thank you for all your patience.

I see you're running 17" Black Rhino Sierra wheels. This wheel has a larger center bore diameter (112mm) when compared to your trucks hub pilot (106.10mm).

Do you know if the wheels have hub centric rings installed?

Hub centric rings, typically made of plastic or metal, are designed and used to fill the gap between the hub pilot of the vehicle and the center bore of the wheel. A hub centric ring’s sole purpose is to help align and center the wheel assembly on the vehicle’s hub pilot and can eliminate vibrations caused during installation.

I know Discount Tire in Austell GA on East West Connector charged me for the rings (Hub Ring Plastic SR12106). I bought tires and rims there. So I assume they are on my truck.

Thank you for the reply, bmsglof - SR12106 is the correct ring for your application.

Let us know what happens with the new tires and my apologies again for the hassle!

3in rough country suspension lift. 285/70r17 GY UltraTerrains on 2016 4runner wheels. Also have 2005 DCSB tacoma prerunner. Currently stock, working on 4x4 conversion then will get lift and bigger tires.
These tires do AMAZING in the rain if you ask me. Here in the PNW we get lots of rain but with these tires you can hardly even tell when its wet out.

I got my new tires and Jesse and Garret talked me into the Nitto Ridge Grappler. They installed and all the vibration is now gone. The Discount Tire in Austell GA took very good care of me and I am thankful for them. I was shocked that tires could be that out of round to shake a vehicle like that.
