So just did service #1, no issues as expected until I decided to drive off. First the maintenance indicator in the info center wasn't reset...okay sloppy, whatever not bothered. Then I noticed they didn't update the service sticker on the windshield...don't really care but aren't they supposed to do that? Even Midas does that. Then I placed my hands on the interior and it felt like the dirtiest hobo in NYC took the truck out for a one-month joy ride.

I thought I was just over blowing it until I got home and decided to use a wet wipe to see how much crap would show up and I was appalled. It took 4-5 wet wipes before all the soot and grease was removed from the steering wheel and shift knob. In the morning I'll check the seat fabric and pray it's not smeared with soot.

Is this common or did my dealer treat my truck like some cheap whore? I can't image some rich prick's Lexus being handled like this.

edit: called dealer and they told me that this is not customary and that the tech fellow will be spoken to. Eh, doesn't really help me but whatever.

Rich prick? For driving a Lexus?

Why not call the dealership to complain instead of inquiring with this site (which is largely US based) to see if it's normal? I would think its dealership/mechanic specific.

Edit - regarding your edit - perfect, hopefully they can sort it out and give you a free service down the line.

Fair enough. I don't think I'll get free anything but as long as they sort themselves out for my next service I'll be happy.

You sure it was grease on the shift knob? I'm thinking your truck might now qualify for the #metoo movement.

I'm thinking you might want to use Clorox wipes on the interior.

Used Kleenex wet wipes, it's all spotless now, I'm just cheesed that I paid $60 for some guy to create the mess.

I worked at a shop on antique cars and if you were getting greasy you were not allowed inside a vehicle you would literally have to ask for someone to take a car out of gear. But if you do accidentally smear grease on someone's truck you think they would at least take the time to clean it up.

Well an oil change wasn't on the menu, just a rotation and inspection. Oil change is at 16,000 kms as per Toyota's recommended maintenance.

I hate to hear stories like this. Next time you'll know better.
Inspect your truck thoroughly with the service person present. Don't accept crappy service.

Toyota techs don't give a shit about your truck. They will do shoddy work, leave grease on your interior and door. They will not read any instructions you have might added, they will leave your valve caps loose so they fly off on your way home, mess with your stereo, steal change, hot rod your truck and scratch the paint. Only go to the dealer when you need to buy a brand new truck. Good luck.

My first service went fine. No grime on the interior parts. I was actually impressed, because with other vehicles in the past when I went to shitty oil change places, it was customary to have some small amount of grime on the steering wheel. Not at my Toyota dealership though. Pretty clean. Guess you got a crappy dealership.
