    Hey All,

I backed up into a post and dented my rear bumper cap.. cheapest i found painted is $300 for part, paint and install.

Should i just bite the bullet and get a steel bumper since i would already be dropping the 300? bumper with install is 1k, minus the 300 i would be spending anyway.. looking at an additional 700.

whats your opinion on the bumper linked?https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/fab-f...coat-black-tt16-w3651-1/_/R-DKSN-TT16-W3651-1

It's a credit card. It's not real money. DO EET!

You have a Pro so you'll probably be losing some functionality from your tech package (blind spot monitors aren't compatible with 3/16" steel). So be at peace with that.

No opinion on the specific bumper. but I think most steel rear bumpers are in the $1,000 price range, so you'll have options.

Check out the TJM rear bumper, less money than that FF and way better looking.

You can get black bumper caps at Rockauto for considerably less than $300.

I see there are 4 holes on the steel bumper face. Can't be fitted with the sensors?

Those are the backup sensors, the blind spot / cross parking sensors are behind the plastic covers on the oem bumper and won’t work behind metal. They are square boxes, not the round ones you mention.

Install yourself, super easy. Save even more.
Also-- I'd recommend waiting 22 days as there's usually Black Friday deals.

I think those are cut-outs are for the backup/parking sensors. The BSM sensor is bigger and and squarish; one at each end of the bumper. There's probably 10 other threads about this on the forums so I don't wanna derail the conversation too much...

edit: whoops, I see someone responded to the sensor thing already.
