Yeah, the ceo of Toyota has an uncle whose business depends on selling a leftover stockpile of drum brakes. He's trying to keep family holidays civil.

    What hasn't been modified?
And more braking service area so more braking power. Most semis still use drum brakes

That's just what they tell you.. My pos drums needed to be resurfaced (or whatever the term is) at 40k due to shit being inside them, and i never took them apart or messed with them before that.

And what will settle any argument.. What other modern vehicle sports the alleged high end drum brakes?

Apple's and oranges.. Like comparing a raptor to a Tacoma, or tundra.

The only passenger vehicles with drum brakes are inexpensive throw away cars.

For what its worth at 25k I needed my rotors turned while the drums are still perfect.

The real reason is drums are cheap and we have an 80% brake bias, there is zero benefit to have rear discs at the moment.

Who was thinking about Moab for Thanksgiving? The group run i was going to go with is slimming down, and now look to want to run 5+ rated trails, which I'm not interested in doing.

Yes, they are stopping a shit ton of weight, and probably not hydraulic brakes.

So.. I'm doing Google research, and having quite a hard time finding full drum upgrades for the rally trucks and prerunners. Ya know, since they are always in the dirt, it would only make sense that they run full drums. :crapstorm:

Damn, someone got salty. Jk. Air vs hydraulic brakes are compare able to one another stoping power wise. The difference is the amount of hydraulic fluid that a semi would have to have in order to run it well weighs more then the pumps and containers of air brakes, but on a passenger car, the weight of the fluid vs have an air pump and air containers doesn’t make sense to have the Bs that goes with air brakes.

But also fluid boil so you’d have to go with a dot 6 brake fluid,

Lol touché I won’t sit here and tell you drums stop better, because they don’t, there is a reason that they are seen as an old technology, the drums prevent extra brake noise

Yup. Which means driving slower than hiking...and dragging the rear bumper. No bueno
