I laugh ea time I see Rascal or Gizmo walk the outside perimeter of ea room I call it Recon Patrol .They walk following ea wall and they do this to every room at least a few times a day . It's like they're securing the perimeter for Dad !!!

Peanut went right into the new "bed". Although they probably have 10 cat beds scattered throughout the house now

The GF picked up a kitten from the shelter on Saturday. He's very affectionate and friendly, but Smokey isn't sure about sharing his people with another cat just yet.

The wife and I went on a walk in one of the larger metro parks today - we're off the whole week for her birthday, and she likes to be outside anytime she can regardless of the weather. The park in question is a huge restored quarry with several lakes and a river running through the middle. It's surrounded by small farms and equestrian businesses, and we were on a trail near the boarder with one of these when a cat popped out of the woods and said hi - sorry, no pics, but he was a good looking medium grey kitty with a white muzzle, belly, and socks. It was going to rain any minute so we wanted to keep going, but dude was super friendly and followed us. We stopped an checked him out, and he looked healthy, clean, and well fed so we assumed he was from the farm next to us. However, he just kept following us, and when it started to rain he got really upset and cried until the wife picked him up and got him under her poncho. Parks are a common dumping place for strays, and this cat had latched onto us so quickly that we were now thinking that this is what happened. After giving him lots of chances to go his own way we decided that we needed to take him with us. We were parked maybe a 3/4-mile away on the opposite side of the river and when the rain stopped a bit we put him back on the ground to see if he would keep following us. He wouldn't cross the bridge, and didn't seem to like being picked up at that point, so we sat on a bench and watched him. He eventually went back into the woods and we lost sight of him. Still being worried, we decided to go to the farm house and ask if it was their cat, and if he wasn't we planned to return later with a can of tuna and a carrier. The news was good - he's one of five barn cats.

Henry has been doing really well since my last post about him. He has returned to his old self - hyper, never sleeping, talking a lot, and playing. He still tires easier that he used to, and we need to careful not to wear him out too much, but otherwise he's doing really well on his current meds. He got another bump next to his eye a couple of weeks ago, so we took him in. The vet gave us an ophthalmic ointment to use on both his face and ears - ophthalmic in case he smeared any into his eyes when washing his face. It's kind of like Neosporin with a vert small amount of a steroidal anti inflammatory agent and an antihistamine. The bumps went down in a couple of days, and everything is clear at the moment. He seems much more comfortable now, and any time we see anything starting up we hit it with the ointment and it disappears. All good news at this point.

Here he is checking out the Wife's birthday presents. He doesn't know it, but one of them is actually for him and the other cats.

I got this memorial paw print of Snickers from the pet cemetery tha cremated her . Now if you look closely this a plaster casting of her paw print but her name was misspelled , It reads "Sneakers"

I also received a very nice Urn with her Ashes and there's a brass engraved plaque with her name spelled correctly

Now since this plaster casting is of one of Snickers paws and being she was cremated what would you do ?? . Part of me I'm a little upset and the other I'm laughing as it's a funny remembrance of her .I bet she's looking down on me with one of her funny sounding Meows right now saying not to worry Dad !!!!

Here's the remembrance paw print !!
