Already in it lol. And I can wide open throttle shift. But it’s still a junk truck tranny. I would love a t56

Sort of opposite of power/performance, but have any of you guys ever look into a smaller alternator pulley? For a bit more available amperage at idle.

Smaller alternator pulley? Wouldn't that under drive it? Well actually it spins faster because it is smaller so I can see that perhaps.

Yes, spin faster. For E-fan, additional lights, winch, audio system, etc

Instead of spinning it faster are there higher output alternators available?

Yes, mechman is $400. I was thinking a $10 pulley would be enough of a difference though.

You have a valid point. Had no idea they were so spendy.

My Steeda got delivered. Can’t see it though because I’m in CO. Hadn’t seen my parents in months. #badson. It’s supposed to be in the 20’s here tonight. Wish I had the Tacoma.

You shouldn't need to go what I have been going through with mine. My issue though may be an absolute blessing in disguise by the time it is all said and done, however.

I’ll have to check the -204 series manuals, but the -25/1 used to say that for all fluid connectors (ie, hydraulic, fuel and oil lines) w/o a specific tq value.

I still use that as a rule of thumb, for my oil filters.

They’ve had lots of medical issues, but they told me a story tonight about a couple that I’ve known basically my entire life that makes my parent’s issues look like a walk in the park. Good luck to you. Aging sucks.

I just got my DC Power unit installed this weekend. There’s a few options available out there. Worth looking into. This unit makes something like 170 amps available at idle and either 250 or 270 amps at speed. It was a pretty tight fit against my ac compressor, but it did go in. Also cleared the s/c idler support arm that uses a bolt from the a/c compressor.

Oh my god. The task was impossible cutting that billet sleeve with a pipe cutter attached to the tensioner arm, but I got it and it all fits together beautifully now. I used a bolt and thick washer that was originally supplied from my old OE side steps and it fit in the treads of the tensioner arm sleeve beautifully, and was just the perfect length to run as part of the whole assembly now. This unit is ready for the big time now, as it has sleeved inner support throughout the entire double bearing assembly of the unit.

Project one of three before Sunday, done. Now I just have to reinstall it.

    Oh yes, absolutely!

I want to hold off on putting this in until I can install my NST pulley though because there is no point in installing this if I'll just be back in there the next day removing the same crap.

I have to replace all 4 fan nuts because I had to emergency remove them earlier in the week and upon tightening I stripped them all out because I had the wrong type of wrench to tighten them. Might as well replace them when I am installing the NST pulley which arrives tomorrow. So after that I just have to pick up my bearing for the double wrap mod which, you guessed it, arrived tomorrow as well.

If I play my cards right I could put it all in on Friday morning and still have time in my day to get all my errands done so I can take my racer girl out on Friday night, then race her and hand her that glorious loss on Sunday that she is looking forward to when we race. :D

Good call, I was thinking something similar about my serpentine. Going to hold off on that until I get the NST pulley set. Will probably just do crank and water though.

Yeah, I don't like those bolts and nuts that hold on fans to clutches. The ones on my car were particularly bad for getting rounded heads.

Let me know what kind of gains you see with the doubler wrap (what am I saying, of course you'll let us know). I was surprised to pick up a pound or more with that mod.

One thing I regret is that my girlfriend doesn't like cars at all. She was in a bad collision when she was a teenager because the guy driving was trying to show off. So any time I give it a bit and go over the speed limit she doesn't like it. But I still love driving her around anyway.

Hey man those are just the drawbacks with some people. Not much you can do. As far as the fan clutch and pulley assembly. I can't stand the way it is held together honestly, but I have no input for some sort of redesign honestly. It is what it is I guess. With the added stability I know I will see with the beef tensioner and double bearing idler things should look a lot more stable while building and holding boost at any particular moment during throttle input. It should even help vacuum stability as well. With all this stuff I am doing I should see an increase to about 12-13 stable psi boost and a much faster revving blower with the incredibly lightweight pulley.

    Dude I am SO excited!!

Yeah man, these mods are so sick. Glad we inspire each other. Lol. What max boost have you seen to date?
