Dude on finebaum just brought up something crazy. It's very possible that for LSU to win it all, they have to beat both alabama and Georgia TWICE

 

That’s crazy man, they should put Bama & Georgia in different playoff brackets (I realize we’d need to expand to 8+ teams, giving the top teams aka in this scenario LSU a bye week).

I wish we were there to be in the conversation. One day...

 

Yeah I just think it's an impossible task for LSU to do. Even if they win this weekend they cant go all the way. Let's just get through this weekend though.

I don’t think there’s any way they don’t make Bama/UGA play in the first round, if they were both able to get in. They’ll make sure there’s not another all SEC championship game.

Simple to hold Alabama under 21? La State's defense will be better than any Alabama has faced, but I wouldn't call that simple. Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd string running backs are all averaging over 5 yards per carry, and we have five receivers averaging over 15 yards per catch. Of course there's also Tua with his 25 TDs and zero interceptions.

Alabama is averaging something like 54 points per game this year. I doubt we'll get that many points on Saturday, but I would be surprised if we didn't end up in the 30s.

This is nonsense. Alabama loses control with a loss this weekend. Any time you're playing for control of you own destiny, you have something to lose.

If any 1-loss, non-conference champion gets in, I'd put my money on Alabama... but that is far from guaranteed.

Plus, Alabama really seems to enjoy playing/beating La State. This game means something to them.

The last time La State scored more than 30 points against Alabama was 2007. I put the o/u at 20.5 La State points on Saturday, and I'd take the under.

Alabama was up 31-13 on TAMU at the half, and didn't score in the 4th quarter. That's not TAMU holding Alabama to 45 points. That's Alabama putting it on cruise control.

Same with Mizzou... Alabama was up 30-10 at the half. Missouri didn't score after the 4th quarter.

 

It's not nonsense, and you know it. Bama has gotten in with a free bye week before and it's quite likely to happen again this year.

no it's not 100% guaranteed, but it's not nonsense.

 

I'll make one prediction, and that's that I see this game going 1 of 2 ways.

1: The talk about Bama playing a weak schedule is true and comes to fruition. The game stays close and is an old-fashioned LSU/Bama hard fought game with winner being whoever scores last in the 4th.

or

2: Bama actually is as good as Bama fans think they are and they stay ahead (by about 14 I'd guess) the whole game and LSU just doesn't offensively keep up.

 

ABSOLUTE NONSENSE, they're saying if LSU beats Bama then they both win out there is a 55.7% chance both teams make it to the playoffs.

I know LSU not going to score over 21.. but bama isnt going to score like they have against us. Texas am and Mizzou defense is no where near as good as ours. Especially a secondary as good as ours.. I did expect more from texas am but they disappointed and the averages of your 2nd and 3rd string rbs comes from that kush schedule..I think low scoring game is what it's going to be. And I agree with if this is bama only lost they still in playoffs as a 3 seed at least
