It wasnt a raffle. You bought patches that were $100 and they were numbered. There was a good exchanged for the $$

 

Cool, so, not trying to stir the pot any more, but to the letter of the law, in that case it's a random draw and he has to give out entries for free to anybody who asks because the law states "no purchase necessary" for all random draws.


What these guys are doing is shady at best, and that's all I'm trying to say.

 

I don’t see how running a raffle and delivering the prize to the winner is taking advantage of anyone. Everyone who entered knew there was a chance they would lose $100 and were fully willing to do that in exchange for the chance to win a $35k truck.

 

Chance, prize, consideration.

That was a general description of gambling I read years ago. If you had all three, it was gambling.

Here chance is you might win the truck. Prize is of course the truck. Consideration is the purchasing a $100 patch (ticket). Consideration doesn't have to be monetary though. Having to be present at a certain spot at a certain time is consideration.

 

He sold it the truck! New owner picked up yesterday.

 

If you are referring to that vehicle or that Pelfrey crap, yes I agree with you.
