Easy enough to do, just draw a line on the top plate to continue the center X out to the outer bolts and then cut off the excess outer parts. I ordered the same battery tray after seeing your post on it and am picking up a PC1400 tomorrow to replace the tiny, incorrect battery that is in the truck now, installed by the previous owner. After reading the concerns about the terminals, I'm going to cut mine as described, paint it with POR15 and then plastidip the top or see what other options I can come up with. Maybe do a spray can bedliner coating on the top instead of the plastidip, it would be a lot thicker and better protection from tools or accidental contact. Just the top of the top plate tho as it doesn't appear there is much space for anything thicker than a coat of paint between the top plate and battery.

Oh, I am so glad we do not have that problem in Alabama.

Oh we don’t here in California either. This 4Runner spent time in the salt belt.

Only reason I took it is because that ratio is so rare. Only rusty car I’ve ever worked on.

    I have mods
Bought and installed an updated stereo system for the truck. The old Sony head unit worked fine but did'nt have bluetooth and I pretty much only stream Pandora. Also had no hands-free phone capability and was running with the OEM speakers. Which when I removed the old unit, I found that they wired it so it was only using the front speakers on a 4 speaker setup...

    Out with the old stuff.

Replaced it all with Kenwood Excelon stuff. Sounds much better with 4 of these 6.5" speakers actually working now. And it has bluetooth and hands-free capability for calls.

The head unit installed. It's a KDC-X502. I forgot to wipe everything down so it's covered in fingerprints and dirt from the install. I also got a Mod Armor Modnetic Stick 90 to hold my phone that you can see in the pic. Works good so far.

While I was doing the stereo install, I replaced the cigarette lighter and one of the power ports with USB ports I found on ebay. I have these in my 2004 Dodge Ram as well and they are awesome.

And finally, I received my 4xInnovations heavy duty trans mount to replace the broken one in the truck right now. Waiting on the paint to dry, I used POR15 spray can top coat stuff. Probably won't get it installed until Friday.

They are on 4Runners. Unheard of on Tacomas, at least at junkyards here in California and Nevada.

Search for 2000 models and you will find them.

I am running those wheels in the 16x8 flavor (4.0 BS) with 1.5" spacers. Tires are 315/75R16 MTRs. They still rub a bit on the frame at full lock and stuffed, but nothing terrible.

Installed a tru-cool transmission cooler yesterday. It took longer than expected. but guess that's what happens when you refuse to drop the skid plat and cant find your 90* needle noses. Hopefully its all working right. Also did a drain and fill. I will be on a 5hr drive tomorrow.

Huh. Must’ve changed since the time I was searching for parts because I remember not being able to plug in 4.30.

    It’s definitely a rare gear ratio in 4x4. I’ve seen more 4.56 than I’ve seen 4.30.

Could you post some pictures when you're all done? I'd like to see how it turns out. Maybe I'll go ahead and do the same thing.

    I always thought most 4cyl 4x4 5 speeds came with 4.30s
