Would you replace your username at the top of every one of your posts with the name and address you used to register with the fcc?
Maybe you would, and I'm not too sure how big of a deal it would be for most people, but it's one reason why you may not get full participation by people who realize that's essentially what they're doing.

That's true. But same has gone on this thread with people revealing their callsign since the beginning.

It does bring up a good point though. I'll edit it to include users who want to make themselves available at their discretion via private message or other means by just putting their name in a state for locals to reach out to.

Most of us posted our call signed in this thread, but yeah, to have it listed on it's own is a bit scary

Strictly a voluntary thing. Already edited it to withhold callsigns if desired.

I was looking to give an example and found something pretty strange.
Did you know that aprs has you broadcasting two weeks ago from Australia on a street named the same as yours?

Yep. And for the life of me I cannot figure out what's retaining that callsign SSID. I've a mobile hotspot that when is on, clearly isn't that, and an aprs tnc device for my mobile, which also isn't that.

Weird. I guess people can enter whatever they want into aprs but the street name sure seems a strange coincidence.

Haha has got to be a weird data entry error bit. Maybe it just linked the street and flipped the +/- on the lat long and found the closest Marshall ?

I'm not important enough for someone to try and impersonate haha

Your Lic is expired, well it will be soon, just thought I`d let ya know, some people do forget and it lapses on them.

Well, I decided it was time to update/upgrade from a HT to a full mobile in the truck. TM-V71A is on its way...

@vssman fyi tip. Program your common channels in 0-99 slots. And then do your other groups in groups of 100, above the 100 slot (100-199, 200-299). Can memory scan groups, which is nice for local travel to not have to scan the whole state. 10 groups all together I believe

It'll take a bit for me to mount it up and get it operational. Currently, I have the F8HP with a remote antenna, aux power from the lighter, and headset. Works pretty good but in reality is a single repeater radio when driving. Buttons are too small for my old eyes to switch repeaters...

I'll be hitting you up for info on the new rig I'm sure...

Wasn't too bad. Cool little read out. I like the BER display when I'm mobile to let me know how my mobile signal is. And the callsign ID is neat. They also have a last call screen as well in other packages.

I just wanted to get this up and running. But I'm going to educate myself on using the GUI developer. I'd like to have a Welcome idle page, and active DMR page, and if there have been any contacts have it deffered to the last call screen instead of the idle page. I'm assuming I can do some sort of "if" value > than for the ID value which routes it to another page. Nothing really radio related. Just thought I'd share

Any brand loyalty / suggestions for a pl-259 connector?

Hopefully cleaning the mobile radio up this weekend. Relocating the unit to the rear. Installing the extension kit for the head unit. Relocating the mic cable to a keystone in a switch blank. And wrapping it all up with putting weather pack plugs on the leads.

But mostly getting rid of all the extra coax cable I have.

Edit: crap. Back to the drawing board. The comet setup I have uses 3.5D-QEFV.
